Well seeing as "all of them" wasn't an option have voted bhop vs Dawson. The fight I really want to see is Pac JMM 3!
Thanks guys. I only picked these fights and said 'choose your own' because I knew I possibly couldn't choose ALL of the fights people would want to see. However, some of you guys cheated as the thread was if you could see ONE fight next year....but I understand as I'd love to see Haye-Klitschko. I actually see Haye walking straight through Klitschko....well, not walking through....but hitting him with some stern jabs in the first round and stopping Wladimir from getting his punches off before making him think Corrie Sanders was playtime in the 2nd. Just my opinion. A psyched up Montiel will give Mijares all he can handle. I see Mijares being badly hurt on several occasions but winning an SD and putting himself in the P4P top 5 (where he belongs!) And I'd love to see Calderon-Solis too, hence I put it on the poll. I genuinely think it's one of the best matchups that can be made in boxing....Calderon by UD after being hit by some heavy rights. Shame there isn't a matinee name in the division above, because Calderon is looking like being forever unknown, appreciated by only us true boxing fans. Kessler-Taylor is a fight I'd love to see. An on-form Taylor can do anything he wants, but I see Kessler K.Oing him worse than Pavlik did, in the championship rounds though, as I think Taylor will be less gung-ho nowadays (as he showed in the 2nd Pavlik fight, though he won't need to be against Lacy) I left out Jones-Hopkins 2, as I think another fairytale won't happen; let's be honest, RJJ hasn't beaten anyone decent in years. Trinidad was the only Elite fighter he has fought since the Tarver/Johnson debacles, and he was clearly past his best form/out of his best weight. Calzaghe will win on points or stop Jones due to influx of punches, can't see him catching Roy with the kind of shot Tarver did. Jones will be in it for the first five rounds....but if Joe C survives it will be all Calzaghe. Which is why I didn't put B-Hop-RJJ 2 on the poll. Should've put Vitali vs. Valuev, and I should've put Pacman-Hatton. If Pacman could do the unthinkable, beating Oscar at 147 and Hatton at 140, then move back up to 147....I see no reason why Floyd won't come back, as he'll be certain he can beat Manny. Pacqiauo is treading on legendary waters if he can pull that one off. But I see Floyd proving another point, stopping Pacman and retiring once and for all, whilst all of us here will always say 'he ducked Cotto/Margarito/Williams/Add Name of Guy Who Has The Tools To Beat Mayweather But Probably Won't. Margo-Williams 2 I probably should've put there. Soto vs. Valero is another good one, but I wasn't sure whether A) Soto was moving up to 135 lbs B) Valero will get past this Pitualata guy (who I've never watched I don't think.) He's coming off an impressive K.O over Santa Cruz, and whilst a bit of a veteran, his record shows he's a banger, and I don't rate Valero at all; if a moderate puncher in Mosquera can put him on ***** street let's see what he can do against this guy. I'm sure I'm gonna' get flamed for this, but I don;t actually think Valero's all that powerful. He's no Foreman/Wilfredo Gomez style character that's for sure.
Maybe, maybe not. Just my opinion. I may be one of the few people who think that Ricardo Lopez vs. Ivan Calderon H2H would be a competitive matchup. And Lopez is nearly one of my five favourite fighters of all time. Not my opinion on the 5 GREATEST or BEST of all time, but one of my favourite fighters. My others are George Foreman, Julian Jackson, Sweet Pea Alexis Arguello and Wilfredo Gomez. These are guys, that for whatever reason, I love. And out of the current crop of fighters, I guess all the ones included on this poll are guys that I dig today. Especially Mijares; at the rate he's going he could become an ATG. Honestly, the man's skill is exceptional. Also, would a Chris John vs. Yuriorkis Gamboa fight be too much to ask? Yes, it probably would. Still, I bet Gamboa's got the balls to go over to Indonesia and try and K.O Chris John, because that's probably the only way he can be beaten.
Cott v Margarito for sheer excitement and quality boxing. Wlad v Haye to see the destruction of the gobby shite Haye
Helluva list...I wouldn't want to see Campbell Diaz again though...I'd add Berto and Bradley and Pwill vs Margo 2...oh, Roy and Bhop!
