I dismiss any such rumor about Joe Louis as bogus. I don't believe it was in his character to load his gloves. Louis guarded his good reputation. He wasn't a saint, obviously, especially when it came to women, gambling on golf or, after he was long retired, hard drugs. But he deserves the esteem with which fans held him. I never saw him intentionally foul an opponent, and the idea he would cheat in a fight rings loudly false to me.

I did not know this about Rischer. Gee, I'm learning a lot today.

All this talk of Sonny...wouldn't it be great if there was a realistic, dark film about his life. I've always thought Idris Elba could play Sonny well....

Would love to see a film on Sonny, but could anyone really capture the menace and the aura of Sonny Liston.

I'd want to know what happened to this once great site...people used to learn boxing history on this site...we had posters that have since passed away...who saw Marciano and Joe Louis...and Ray Robinson training in Stillman Gym in NYC...and saw the big fights in person....a year or so ago I saw a posting that said,..."Could Mike Tyson beat a lion?"...I wasn't surprised...what's next? Could Shirley Temple beat Andre the Giant?

Well, the way time works is that there are going to be fewer and fewer people who saw Marciano and Louis and Ray Robinson training. You get that, right?

But there are still many posters with first-hand stories of fighters from past eras if you care to look.

Don’t use this site’s history to dodge. Just answer the question: Do you think Tyson could beat a lion or no?

I'd like to have seen what really went down between Tyson and Desiree Washington. I, like many others, suspect that the whole r*pe thing was bull****.

How did Ali REALLY get Parkinsons disease? I don't buy that it's because he got hit too many times to the head, as so many fighters got hit much more & didn't suffer as bad as he did or get Parkinsons. I believe it was planned with sinister & deliberate intentions. The Government had a hand in it? The White House?

Ringside reporter observed that Greb's legs were not the same at age 31 that they were at age 25 for Greb-Tunney I. Harry's Championship Distance win over Gene turned Burt Bienstock's father from a Tunney fan to a Greb fan for life (and Burt's father lived into the 1980's).

As was the case for Greb-Walker, Greb-Tunney I in May 1922 was filmed, and so far as I know, the earliest Greb bout which was definitely filmed. (It was also on radio.) .

    It was Illuminati, 100%.

Parkinson's is genetic. Some of his family members also had it. In these cases it was Illuminati as well of course, just to cover their tracks, lol.

You’re quoting a guy who died a year or two ago in his nineties.
