For a dominant, lineal heavyweight champion, would you do so? Say if we had another Tyson-like era.

No, I never got what was so special about the heavyweight division. Americans are so obsessed about size...these guys were watchin boxing at my house saying that lightweights are boring and are like little kids...I told them they shouldnt say that to Pacquaio

Nope, A great heavyweight will come along and titles will be unified eventually. It won't take too long, the heavyweight division has been down before but within 5-10 years I am sure it will be pretty good again.

Hell look at cruiser when Toney/Jirov left, it was down, now it is back up again with good, young talent. Every divison in boxing throughout history has had good times and bad times.

So would I trade a welterweight division stacked with potentally 5 HOF fighters (Mayweather, Cotto, Williams, Mosley, and DLH) with 1 HOF heavyweight, no way.

Hell no.....Greatest fighters to ever walk the earth were in the lower divisions (sans Ali). I like great fighters, regardless of weight. 147 may have 3-4 ATG in it right now....

Are you in the US? Cuz outside of DLH-PBF, the mainstream media hasn't mentioned a boxing match in years in the states. UFC and Pride get as much coverage on ESPN as boxing now. That's just how it is.

And down here in Florida, a ton of people know all about MMA.

Unfortunately, boxing doesn't get covered by the mainstream sports media in the states. It's often not even an after thought. There was no mention of the fights on ESPN or Sportscenter that I saw, though I could have missed something.
