If you do not think about the Green fight, does Jones have a better chance.

Jones will be pumped up for this fight and Hopkins is 45. I always believe the rematches follow the patterns of the original. So Jones does have a good chance to win.
The fight with Green is what most people think make Roy's fight with Bernard look like an easy fight for Bernard. If you take the Jones who beat Lacy against the Bernard who beat Pavlik, is Bernard really that big a favorite?

If it helps, I can also not think about the Tarver and Johnson fights.

Well if this fight happened after Roy whooped Lacy, a lot more people would give Roy a chance to win this fight.

Well as far as the most recent fight. This fight with Jones and Hopkins is similar to the rematch between Hearns and Leonard. Hearns then is like how people see Roy Jones- with people thinking he had the weak chin-he was stopped by Barkley and had a tough fight with Kinchen, and Hopkins is Ray. the guy who is coming off of an impressive win. As it turned out Hearns took a better punch than people thought he would and he knocked down Ray. I am not saying Roy will be the guy knocking down Hopkins, but the parellels to Hearns/Leonard 2 are big. The Green fight was legit and Green stopped him, but Green might have stopped him a few years ago before he beat Lacy. I am just saying, it looks like Roy could outbox Bernard and win a SD.

I could also forget about the Tarver, Johnson, and Calzaghe fights if it suits you.

So in reality, Jones is undefeated!

yeah they would. the Green fight he got hit hard and he was stopped, but wouldn't that punch have landed 4 or 5 years ago also? I think Roy will be good tommorow night if he can win the first few rounds and get his rhythm.

that was not what I meant. But the Green fight is a legit loss, but Green is so much different a fighter than Bernard, I am not sure it is a factor. Jones and Hopkins are from the same weight divisions and Hopkins is older, and they fought before and Jones won a decision. I do not see Hopkins knocking out Jones in the first few rounds. Boxing history does not back that up. It is true that boxing history rarely has two fighters fighting in their 40's. But boxing history shows us that this fight will probably go the distance.

I'm not saying it's impossible for Jones, Bernard not a fan of fighting the fastest handed fighters, but Hops is better preserved by miles even though technically older and he is a far, far superior ring technician, imo. But, you never know and that's why it's interesting I guess. And Hopkins hasn't scored a knockout in years. We'll see pretty soon. :good

To be fair, Danny Green is really a light heavy. The fight they held was a catchweight of 180 which, if I'm not mistaken, is the weight Green won his trinket at.

I am excited about the fights tommorow. Haye and Ruiz, and Hopkins and Jones. Also the Juarez fight will be good on the undercard, or should be.

I'd actually care a little bit. I know that some people would care quite alot.

I remember after Roy beat Sheika and Lacy, it was "roy back to his old self". When in reality he just laid against the ropes like the shot Roy Jones does and Sheika and Lacy couldnt hit ****.

He tried that **** against a cruiser and paid for it.

Its just sad now. I wonder if Roy has money troubles. Roy Jones Jr is gonna finish his career with atleast 7 losses.

Yeah, I couldn't really get why people would think Roy was back against a fighter who hadn't fought in 4 years(Sheika) and a short SMW with little power(post-surgery) who simply wasn't that good and was also somehow more shot than Roy(Lacy).

I wish guys like Roy and Holyfield would hang it up. It's tough to see them carry on like this.

yes, cause against calzaghe he wasnt much on trouble at all in first 4 rounds but latter on you'll realiaze that he did NOT have the stamina anymore to throw his jab, let alone a combination

actually, even before he was cut he did not throw much punches at all, that shows he knows that he;s lacking of stamina

If I wasn't thinking about the Green fight I would still be thinking about the Calzaghe fight and would have to say no, when Jones is up against a good fighter it shows how shot he is. He looks great against journeyman though, well, journeyman that aren't Australian.
