If you dont have Ricky Hatton as top 100 ATG, what would have to do to get there?

His movement on the way down to the canvas?

What movement would allow Hatton to elude the huge strides and arms of Margo as he cuts off the ring? You think Ricky could dance round the outside and use his shorter arms to jab and box Margarito? Use his head movement and reflexes to slip and roll?

Have you actually seen either of these guys fight??? :?

Seriously let it go,let the thread die.It most likely take Margarito 2 combos to rock him and 5 to put him down.

Margarito would knock Hatton cold within 4 rounds. I like Ricky but as I said, it's a size mismatch and a style mismatch. Watch Hatton v Collazo at 147. Watch Margarito v Cotto at 147. Then tell me that fight is winnable for Ricky Hatton.

Margarito would steam roll Hatton like a train.Ricky would have no answer,he can't block Margarito's output with his head like at 140,he would get KO'd.He doesn't have nothing to hurt Margarito,he has like 5 inches in reach to Margarito and 4 inches in height and 10 lbs on fight night. It would take no more than 3 rounds.Honestly benny give it up man./close thread

I challenged you because it's so untrue and wrong and you would get hammered by the haters if you would say this bull**** along the way. These guys that answered all are class and you saw that no one can agree with Hatton ATG.Some even say he ain't elite(altough that is bull**** too).

I'm not a huge fan of Hatton but he does what he does well - goes looking for the biggest (normally the best) fight available. With the exception of Witter, who I think he ducked for personal reasons not ring reasons, Hatton has never ducked anyone and has beaten class opposition only losing against the best fighter in the world.

Hatton is certainly no "Paper champion" he is the man at 140lbs and has beaten all the realistic contenders and now has the chance to beat a P4P great. The problem is sustained dominance in a comparitively weak division doesn't secure legacy. If he beats Pacman then he's making a shout for ATG but needs to do something outside of 140 to cement it.

Dominating a strong division can assure greatness but when the division is weak you are forced to go up or down to achieve a legend status. This is harsh on Hatton because 147 looks too much but ultimately it's the only way he will get in any ATG lists.

Was/Is LWW weak or is Hatton actually very, very good just at one weight?

Ricky is the undisputed best fighter in his division, and he is a world top 10 p4p fighter. Appreciate him for what he is if you're a fan because what he is is good enough in itself. His fights at 147 should've shown you that he is not a welterweight (thus cannot compete with Margo) and that he cannot compete effectively at 2 weight divisions (thus severely hindering his chances of gaining entry to a p4p top 100). If you were asking what could he do to be considered one of the top 10 lww's ever, now that's a question worth pondering. :good

I think Hatton is just very very good at one weight. A paper champion could not have beaten Tszyu. Marvin Hagler was another fighter whose body was simply not suited to jumping weights - hence why he did not.
