...its very good, but not 38 mil a fight good. Im not saying he didnt accomplish a lot, but his record isnt as remarkable as most would think. If you give Castillo an official round or two and Floyd has that one loss, how much do you think he would have made vs. Cotto? Less than half that imo. Hes a great fighter, but I think he has benifeted more from great marketing and social media, than any fighter in the history of boxing. Again, I'm not questioning Floyds skills or accomplishments, but anyone that can be objective could see that some smoke and mirrors, and a bit of luck coupled with good timing, have greatly influenced his paydays.

You're aware that this thread doesn't have a thing to do with Manny? These days, the ***** agenda just kinda shoves him places he doesn't belong.

You know what? After seeing all these nuthugging ***** remarks I took it upon myself to make a random sampling of Floyd's fights. My sample: Castillo, Baldomir, DLH, JMM, Mosley and Cotto. After watching those fights I concluded that he's the most overrated piece of **** I have ever seen.

A lot of people watch him fight, hoping to see him lose and see how he will react to his 1st loss. If you havent noticed, having an undefeated record has become a huge marketing tool in recent years. Its ridiculous, but it is what it is. Im sure that if he was 41-1 he would not have made 38 mil. I dont agree with it, but then again, I think hes hugely overpaid to begin with but if boxing was fair, we would be paying $70 for a ppv ever.

If Cotto had been undefeated he would have made double what he did

Starting his pro career at junior lightweight and moving up over the yrs and becoming the junior middleweight champ is impressive no matter how you slice it and is a hard thing to accomplish for any fighter.

Peppermint raises some valid points I think. A lot of top boxers are grossly overpaid, Floyd more so than almost anyone, and he has been very calculating when it comes to choosing who to fight these past couple of years (I just can't see Floyd risking it against someone like Martinez for example). He also markets his '0' shamelessly, to great effect... not that there's anything wrong with that.
