If you had to go against a boxing champion, who would it be?

I support those who elected Mike Tyson (although I did not), because judge Mike did not give anything away.
It is difficult to say that for other elected heavyweights.

I think this is a little exaggerated. That means up to 118 lb. at weigh in, which easily can be ~ 130 on the day of the fight.
Now that is enough that someone like me without significant combat experience & just way bigger would not have a decent chance.
This covers most on the board.

But there are people here who are fighters or have a lot of training in boxing.
If they are HWs or weigh in fit more of less around the LWH limit, they may very well come in between being competitive & easily winning.

If a really good fighter or at least a decent journeyman, maybe even weighing in as low as, or built like, say a Hagler.

I'm dubious we have someone in here that's going to last or win against a Pintor or similar champ. I haven't seen anyone in classic saying they fought professional or are fighting professional. I doubt we have a "decent journeyman" in classic.

I've watched up close a very talented world ranked amateur Bantamweight (top in Australia at one time and got third from memory in a world event) semi school a professional welterweight who briefly held a state title. The welter couldn't get a clean shot on him and was taking HARD counters and the bantams sense of distance and rage was eye opening. For a bantam this guy could WHACK and as good as he was he's just a world ranked amateur. Our trainer used to claim he would beat Fenech over 3 rounds and Fenech was bantam champ at the time. I can only imagine what a guy like Pintor looks like from 20 feet away in a quiet gym. Rest assured he'd have the power to sleep a helluva lot of decent sized non pro's.

Now if Charlie Z was posting in here, well that would be a game changer.

You may be right, although we have some fighters, who is a pro as a boxer let alone how good is a question.
However even a good MMA who is large & gets a training camp has a good chance.
The difference in size, chin & power between bantamweight & HW-at least for a skilled combat man-will often be an equalizer.

Or more: outweighing your opponent by 50% or more of similarly lean muscle is a huge advantage.
And they would have a large to huge height & wingspan advantage.

I know the ring is different from a street fight, but this is worth a thread!
Perhaps asking at what max,. day of weight would you favor yourself against a champ with a camp, if any.
And what level of competitive skill or success must one have at what size....to likely beat a top Bantamweight.

Yeah it depends on exactly what we have in here. Who is the best big man in here? I personally wouldn't have a clue. I don't count the other forums. I have no doubt if the question was asked in General we'd see a lot of claims but i think a fair share would fall short.

In general many years back we may have had a journeyman heavyweight here at some point from memory. That's not Classic tho.

It would make a good thread. Although a large guy who is excellent as combat but not a specialist in boxing may be somewhere between competitive & knocking a world class Bantamweight out.
When you are 50% or more heavier in lean mass, with a large-huge height & reach advantage, you need not be nearly as good or skilled, but at least a decent fighter by professional standards.

Especially with a camp to prepare & adequate motivation, many of these types might beat the best welter weights.
