    Behold Richard Commey:

Ghanaian, 6 amateur fights, 23-0 with 21 KOs as a pro. He has:

    a slow clumsy jab
    terrible footwork
    wide, sloppy punches
    Arturo Gatti defense
throws one punch at a time
    no reflexes

But he KOs a FAR better boxer, an excellent amateur with 200 amateur fights, here just by walking through is punches and taking his heart.

Does Richard Commey have a future? Kind of reminds me of a black Carlos Maussa.

He looks like he could use some major help in the fundamentals department but that has destroyed better men when changed late in their careers(Hamed, Jones Jr.).

He does have and extra slow jab which can be more accurate if he actually aimed it properly.

One thing you are spot on about is that he has major DETERMINATION!!!
WILL POWER is the most important ability in fighting period.

I've always said stamina and chin are the most important things in boxing. Of course everything matters, but you can be pretty ****ty in everything in boxing except those and still destroy close to everybody.

Look at Antonio Margarito. No speed, average power, no defense, no footwork, no jab, no head movement, no countering.

All he had was a chin and his workrate and then he just sonned everybody.

And pacquiao sonned him. It only gets you so far, he was a freak, but th real elites are too talented and wily for fighters like margarito. Commie wouldn't have near the success.

Plenty of people of fighters were beaten by Manny Pacquiao. Just because you take a loss against Pac doesn't mean you suck.

Haha. These are the two attributes I have/had in abundance. What I was/am lacking is a willingness to sign up to a career full of taking heavy punishment in a painful quest for success. I guess that's the third part of the basic success triumvirate.

Marg was actually competent as a boxer when younger, compared to the marg most fans know. He realized he wasn't good enough for average pros, marg hit the lottery when he fought cotto, a fighter that couldn't hurt him for real and for whatever reason didn't know stamina, heart and chin are what separated the good, great and elite fighter's.

Marg without the first cotto fight came up massively short everytime he stepped up. Even stepping up a tiny but were guaranteed losses.

Who are all these good fighters he beat or even comleted well against ? Santos sonned him and that's the definition of a lower B level journeyman.

Ive never rated clottey or martinez, idk who he actually beat legitimately, i guess he's so forgettable i have to review his wicked weak resume

Stamina heart and chin are needed for any fighter to reach the real elite level. There's never been an elite fighter without those 3 vital attributes in abundance.

Obviously those 3 arent all that's needed. There's been thousands of fighters with all those thats never made it past the club scene

Margarito had basic boxing skills, and Commey makes him look like Pernell Whitaker, but it was painful watching Antonio push out that thing he called a "jab."

Those three attributes will take you a long way, you throw in a big punch, you get Marciano.

Yes, to WIN A TITLE. You have to read what I said. There are 4 titleholders in each division.

Obviously to be a dominant long-term champ, or a Hall-of-Famer it takes more, but capture a belt and bring it back to fanfare in your hometown, that's about right.

Incredible stamina, reminds me of the African huntsman who run after deer for hours, until the deer collapse of exhaustion.

Looking forward to watching his fights.
