The lineage was split and most so called "champions" these days are nothing only beltholders

    1 belt = contender
    2 belts = #1 rated contender
    3 belts = champ
    4 belts = undisputed champ

Untested Paper champs fighting bums to be precise is what has become of the Hw division.

Oh Anthony Joshua vs Alex Molina is the match up that everyone was wanting to see. And Wilder vs a washed up Arreola.

Belts mean nothing, Wilder has a belt and that is very disgraceful!

It's true that holding a belt doesn't make you a champion. For me, it is who you won the belt from.
Too many belt holders got a vacant belt.

Had a belt once = Let's go Champ
    1 belt = Champ
    2 belts = Double Champ
3 belts = Champ of Champs
    4 belts = ATG Champ
5 belts = Where did you find the time to get the IBO Champ?

Mike Tyson was the first to unify 3... does that make him the first ever champ?

    1 belt = beltholder (WBO)
2 belts = double belt holder (IBF)
    3 belts = champion (wba)
4 belts = consensus champion (WBC)
5 belts = certified champion (IBO)
6 belts = undisputed champion (the ring)
7 belts = lineage repaired (lineal)

This doesn't even matter anymore. Championships are only as good as the matchups. Four belts or none, lineal shmineal or whatever, if the best aren't fighting the best in their division nearly every time out we shouldn't call anyone a 'champion'.
