If you like ... you'll like ...

Post your own comparisons or offer a fighter you're a fan of to be offered suggestions. Debate if you have conflicting opinions, make more suggestions if you can think of one, this is a free-for-all to help people find new fighters (maybe) and to debate fighters that might not otherwise get airplay. In some instances the comparisons might be in plain site. Good. This isn't just for the obscure, Mike Tyson and Floyd Patterson are as famous as you could want and (for obvious reasons) have some similarities.

Now, these fighters will ideally have similar styles or execute their game somewhat similarly, but they could have similar traits, for example, you might suggest a Nigel Benn fan check out Danny Lopez for their shared trait of being at their most dangerous when hurt (and being heavy handed knockout punchers) and funnily enough my first example has the same thing! That's not the comparison I'm making though.

If you like Alexis Arguello you'll like Shozo Saijo

Very fun Japanese featherweight who held the WBA title in the late 60's. Don't be fooled by his low K.O% he could really dig!

Similarly lanky featherweight, quality punching form and stalks his man waiting for clean punching opportunities; less of a boxer puncher than a Juan Manuel Marquez, but similar in his ability to put combinations together in a textbook manner to both mentioned fighters.

Like Marquez, hittable and fiery when dropped, and less composd and able to catch and parry shots than Arguello. But in some very fun fights at a lower level but undoubtedly world class, well worth a look if you like textbook punchers.

How about if you like Floyd Mayweather you'll like George Benton

Same defensive style, Benton fought in a stacked middleweight era and picked up the scalps of former and future World champions while being shafted out of his own title opportunities, sometimes because of politics and sometimes because of his own poor decisions.

If you like Michael Katsidis you'll like Tae Shik Kim

They look pretty damn similar stylistically. Kim also had a heavy workrate and threw every shot like he was trying to break his opponent in half.
