If you read the IBF rules, there is NO controversy. Bute won.

That may be true.....but what you should admit is that since the ref had no way of knowing how much time was on the clock.....he did his best to stall the count, and thus there is'nt any question what so ever here that Wright is a dishonest, corrupt referee.

You've made some good points here K, but one of them is not that the referee did it by the book.

Clear yourself here K, and admit that the ref did everything in his power to stall the count!
....again I must repeat, the ref had now way of knowing how much time was on the clock, thus his shenanigans were to make certain that Bute be bought time, and even for time to expire!
    .....this my friend is irrefutable!!!!

    You make two assumptions here.

    1) That the ref had no way of knowing how much time was left. Hard to believe he wouldn't have a strong sense that the fight was nearly over.

    2) That the ref wanted to stall the action to let the clock run out. Why don't you believe that his scolding of Andrade was justified--that Andrade was NOT in the neutral corner where he was supposed to wait?

If you beat the count (and are ahead on points), you don't lose, either morally (whatever that means) or in reality.

Like saying my team scored just before the end of the game but you recovered the onside kick, depriving them of the chance to tie/win. It's ridiculous.

It doesn't matter whether he was in "shape to continue." The fight is over as soon as he gets up; he doesn't have to continue. The bell should have rung as soon as he got up, which was way before any count of 10. You only have to survive the 12th round, not the 12th plus additional time so your opponent can hit you more.

I dont believe it because I saw every concievable angle of the happenings from the time Bute was knockdown, to the time the fight officially ended.

I said earlier in this thread that Showtime had a camera that they showed in their replays that had a viewpoint of the whole ring, as if you were watching it 10n rows behind the ring.

It showed everything from the knockdown, to Andrade walking to the neutral corner and mantaining himself there.....to the referee interupting his count to turn back and admonish Andrade who had never left the neutral corner.

The only thing that Andrade did'nt do was rest his body on the turnbuckle as he waited.
Andrade mantained himself 2 or 3 feet from the turnbuckle, but he was still within a 3 feet radius of the corner.

The rulebook states that a fighter scoring a knockdown, go to the neutral corner, where in the hell does it state that he has to rest his body at the turnbuckle........
....in fact, in all my years of watching boxing, I've never seen a fighter after scoring a knockdown, lean his back to the turnbuckle......apparently thats what this referee wanted from Andrade.

They're replaying the fight Wednsday on Showtime, once the forum members around here see what I'm talking about, they're going to be up at arms about it!:yep

I'll say it again, we dont know that for sure.
Since the ref did'nt give an uninterupted count, it can be estimated that Bute may have beaten the count, but none of us can say that for certain.
Its supposed to be a 10 count, not a 10 second count, in many instances counts have been known to have lasted less than 10 seconds.

Why wait for Wednesday? Here's some video shot by a fan who was at the fight.

Watch for the knockdown. See anything interesting about Andrade's position?

Its too bad that the camera turned away from the ring and we did'nt get to see when Andrade moved for a few brief momemts toward the center of the ring.......

I'll have to see the Showtime view of it on Wedsnday, as I believe Andrade took a few steps toward the center of the ring, because he did'nt know what the hell the ref was yelling at him about.....once he figured it out, he ran back to the neutral turnbuckle!

That clip does'nt show much, we need to know if the ref had already turned to admonish Andrade before Andrade actually took those steps toward the center of the ring.....
.....the guy with that camera had his aim up at the video screen at that point.
