I didn't see the fight live just watched it on youtube with the sound off (Russian!!).

It was a pretty close fight but the first few rounds (1-5) Jacobs didn't really do much other than dance around.. Round 6 he seemed to realise that he could take GGG's power and fought back..

Then he was far more active but he wasn't hitting his target enough and he looked a little like Wilder with some of the wild swings he took...

GGG seemed to be far more accurate and I would imagine landed more shots.

He never had GGG in trouble at any stage but other that the knock down he was never really in any trouble but he was way too negative tbh..

Bottom line is GGG just does what he does and hunts them down taking what he has to to hit back.. He isn't fast nor is he pretty but he does do what he has too..

I suspect that because this wasn't a walk over and Jacobs can to fight people are giving his performance more weight that normal...

 

To some fans, Jacobs surviving 12 rounds against GGG with only one Knock down is already a win.

I would not say he just "ran," but he did not want to engage as much after the KD.

Honestly, though, I think the strategy change helped him survive the fight. I give him credit for being able to execute the stick-and-move strategy pretty well once he switched to it.

 

Daniel Jacobs was not able to hurt Triple G at all.
I was very disappointed , I wanted to see Triple G get dropped on his ass at least once .

Is it really a surprise that the posters that are hyper critical of Golovkin, scored the fight for Jacobs by absurdly wide margins?

I'm not....moving on.

 

Jacobs beat Golovkin in my opinion. The wrong man had his hand raised at the end of the fight.
