    Think again, Calzaghe put in his worst performance for years against Hopkins, Calzaghe's family was interviewed a few hours after the fight in their living room by local tv back in Wales.
    Joe had told his Sister that he was disappointed with his performance !!!, his Sister was only interested to know that he was not hurt, this was not boxing trash talk, Joe had told his own Sister {who clearly knew nothing about boxing and was only interested that he was ok} that he was disappointed with his performance.

    I think Calzaghe beat Hopkins fair and square
    I think Calzaghe's performance was poor against Hopkins
    Calzaghe fought Hopkins away from home

    I think Calzaghe wins a rematch easily against Hopkins
    I think Calzaghe can not perform as badly again {unless in terminal decline, we will find out after the Jones bout}
    Any rematch will surely be at Home {Millenium Stadium, Cardiff}

    Hopkins already beat him the first time by about a point IMO. I was surprised when the decision was announced.

    Its tough to call.

    Hopkins is a master boxer and he learns well so he would have learned a lot from the first fight and would probably have some new tricks up his sleave to counter and nullify Calzaghe's attacks.

    For me the outcome of the fight would come down to what Joe has learned from the first fight. Apparently Joe doesn't watch much tapes on his opponents (his dad obviously does) and mainly just figures them out whilst in the ring which i think is rather foolish but just shows what a great natural fighter Joe is. However if there is a rematch i think Joe needs to study some B-Hop fights intently. Hopkins isn't really a fighter you can just master whilst on the job so to speak. It barely worked in the first fight and with Hopkins now having first hand knowledge of Joe if Joe doesn't swat up on Bernards style he could get beat in the rematch.

    He looked like he put on a bad performance because of his opponent, though I do agree that Calzaghe would still take it in a rematch. Still a nice fight to watch.

    Hopkins didnt put on his best performance neither so saying calzaghe didnt performe isnt fair. Both men performed bad against eachother because both fighters are so good.

    I must have watched the calzaghe hopkins fight a hundred times and i fail to see where you guys scored rounds for hopkins. he was dreadful.
    Fair enough, he scored a knockdown but what else did he do. Calzaghe (slaps or otherwise) landed consistently and put hopkins on the back foot for the remaining 11 rounds. Joe deserved the decision... definitely

    100%. I have no idea why people can't see this. Both looked bad, because both frustrated the hell out of each other.

    It was a terrible Hopkins performance and I still felt he won the fight. I can't see how Calzaghe can do any better next time.

    He cant. Thats why his not interested in a rematch :lol: The man has no credibility. He can rematch Veit to keep hold of his WBO despite wiping him out in a round the first time but wont fight Hopkins again despite a very shady decision and off the back of his drubbing of Pavlik.

    What is "better than last time"? He'd need a KO to get a draw out of some of you people.....;O)
