He didn't get lucky, I just expected a healthy Martinez. I expected a good, competitive, fair fight. Doesn't matter who fought Martinez that night, if he's limping around on a leg he's had a history of injuries and surgery on, I can't give his opponent credit.

And you're right, no one forced Sergio. But I don't know how anyone in their right mind couldn't see Sergio limping and struggling to move. Everyone always cries about Pac's opponent being drained, or Mayweather's opponent being too green or flat footed. Cotto bravely moves up to middleweight but it turns out his opponent is damn near crippled. Martinez's knee ruined the fight for me.

I'm not even a Martinez fan.

Watch the first round again, he was moving around just fine, floated around the ring around the 1 min mark. Right before the 2nd knockdown you see Cotto land a shot, from then one Martinez's legs looked bad, the second knockdown was 3 seconds after.

He did look fine initially. I've said before the first knock down was legit. I saw his legs wobble. It wasn't until after those knockdowns he started limping and dragging his leg. Even Roy Jones Jr was pointing out how bad his leg was. People aren't on here making this stuff up.

So if the Martinez that stepped into the ring was healthy and his knee was fine, and Cotto just happened to hit Martinez so hard it ****ed him up, what is your complaint?

You are acting as if his leg just gave out because his ACL was torn or some crap.

Just watched it again on youtube. I'll take back the injury part but that's it. I'll give Cotto credit but Martinez's leg still wasn't 100%. It didn't look like it was due to injury, more like the surgery. AND YES, SURGERY WILL RUIN YOUR MOBILITY.

No, Cotto did a fine job. I think you guys might be misinterpreting me. Cotto's game plan and boxing was effective. Martinez's leg was stiff, it's crap now. He should retire.

Martinez's leg doesn't have the same mobility and I think Cotto and Roach went for this fight based on two things: Martinez's recent poor performance and his surgery.
