If you was in Froch's shoes would you bother fighting James DeGale next?

A third fight with Kessler does carry weight as Froch would win the series 2-1 and would do big numbers in the UK.

And Froch is no Tavoris Cloud or Jean Pascal. A fight with Hopkins is a close fight.

if they'd struck while the iron were hot they coulda made decent numbers with this fight, degale has a name thanks to his olympic gold and lost a razor-thin decision to groves. but hindsight is 20:20, and at the time chavez in vegas looked like an option, they may have lost the momentum they'd've have had they promoted froch degale immediately.

think a fight against Adonis Stevenon could be an option, he's got belts at LHW and is very beatable and seems to be out of the picture in that division with Hopkins / kovalov, maybe a home coming fight in Nottingham against Ward maybe to end his career in summer 2015 to either avenge his other loss, or retire.

I would rather see him fight any of the following before Degale:

    Kessler
    Ward
    JCC Jr 168-175
    Kovalev -175
    Hopkins -175
    Stevenson -175
    GGG -168

Degale would make it a good competitive fight and take a healthy points lead into the second half. I haven't seen anything in him that suggests he could outlast Froch though and I think ultimately Froch stops him late on. Degale isnt vastly better Groves and certainly doesnt hit hard enough to bother Froch.

I'd like to see him pulverize Stevenson, a Kovalev- Stevenson fight would see Krusher Krush his body, a Hopkins-Stevenson fight would see The Alien abduct his soul. A Cobra fight would probably see both. :yep

But I doubt Stevenson would take that fight. He moved up when he was Froch's mandatory to avoid that fight.

Me too. He has said multiple times that he's only ever gonna fight at 168 so I doubt the Kovalev/ Stevenson/ possibly GGG fights are possible. Ward wants £50 million for a rematch :)patsch), JCC Jr has promotional issues.

I'd say the most likely is Kessler, followed by Hopkins (who would be willing to come down in weight).

Froch struggled psychologically during the buildup to Groves and was bothered by Groves, would be funny to see what would happen when Hopkins started ****ing with him :). Regardless, in the ring, Hopkins would Ward him.

    No.

He's done the big 'domestic showdowns' in his last to fights, he wants his name up in lights in Vegas so hopefully that happens for him.

No. If I were Froch I'd keep doing exactly what made him so popular in the sport' exposing bums.

For Froch the biggest payday awiting him is to expose the biggest bum; Golovkin.

If hearns could pack 80,000 drunken Brits into a stadium to see Froch-Groves, then he could certainly pack 100,000 in to see Froch expose and destroy Golovkin.
Following that, Froch would be known as, The exposed Bum-beater.

:nono People know who Groves is over here, they don't much about Golovkin so it wouldn't do as many, and secondly our biggest stadium only holds 90,000

I wouldn't have wasted my time on George Groves if legacy is what we're talking about, but as far as financially, I'd imagine DeGale still brings more to the table than almost anyone.

EDIT: I guess I should clarify. Groves was a top 10'er, so that's never a bad fight. But if he literally only has one or two fights left, then I do think there was a possibility of doing something bigger for his legacy perhaps (although there really isn't much at 168 other than Ward II or Kessler III, and if he doesn't want to go to 175 then he doesn't want to and that's fine).

As of now, DeGale makes the short list along with Anthony Dirrell and the above mentioned rematches with Ward and Kessler, which don't appear to be possible for the next half year or so.

Degale is a poor man's version of Andre Dirrell, and an all UK fight you know will fill in arenas in England. I think Froch deserves an easy fight. Groves is a good fighter, better than Degale. Easy money for Froch. Win or lose people love The Cobra.

Groves and Degale are evenly matched. Degale is not an easy fight. Anthony Dirrell is a much easier fight than Degale.
