...and could have a piece of any of the following heavyweight prospects, which would it be and why? Also, who would be your second and third choices?
I went for Haye. I'm 50/50 on whether he can really crack it - chin chin chin. But if he does he's going to go wide, i'm going to be a millionaire.
Solis and no doubt in my mind his amateur career is incredible wins over Ibragimov and Haye 2-1 over Felix Savon. 3 time World Champ,Olympic Gold Medalist, nearly 250 fights. Has spent a whole 80 secounds in the ring during his 2 pro bouts agianst a combined record of 42-9 thats not to shabby.
If I were a manger, I'd be looking for babies. If I was a manager, I'd pick... David Haye. Isn't he supposed to be shagging Kylie Minogue? Always fancied her, so I'd go Haye just to try and get in 'the back door' (in both ways... )
If I was a manger...it would be just my luck, that some kid, whose folks were following a star, would pick me to give birth in!
And Povetkin is basically on the verge of contender by the end of this year if all goes according to plan. He's already got a better record than some top 10 guys.
Solis, I'd get this guy the best trainer for his style and the best nutritionist. He's obviously very powerful and the boxing pedigree just adds to it. Povetkin's lack of defence may be a liability.
I was wondering about this. I am incredibly intruiged by Dimintrenko because he's only 24 yers old and already has 25 fights- these guys don't even turn pro these days unitl they are 26 or so. But he's got to step it up. How much can you learn when your best opponent to date is Vaugn Bean?
Povetkin. He and a french guy were sparring with Wlad at the training camp for the Byrd fight. I heard from the french guy trainer that Povetkin has no skills in the ring and, obviously, that his fighter (the french, you take it) was giving trouble to Wlad during the sparring session. The story ended some weeks ago when the french fighter got KTFO in his very first pro test fight against an experienced Polish fighter. Now it is Povetkin's turn to fight a ""true"" opposition ...
I would rank them 1) Povetkin 2) Solis 3) Dimitrenko 4) Haye Povetkin is the goods skills wise, a little on the small size but has the potential to be an exciting heavyweight champ. Solis while impressive is friggin unproven. He has exactly two rounds of pro experience! In time he could develop into the top prospect, but until we see him in harder fights he is number two. Dimitrenko has great size, and seems solid all around. He has not developed the power you would think he would have for his size. Still if he is managed correctly he could win a belt. Haye is still too small, and has been koed at lower weight classes. Something that other fighters who made the jump successfully to heavyweight from lighter weight classes didn't have happen.
