...a journeyman with mediocre defense, good power and strength, okay speed, decent technique, and a good chin. Not going to pretend I could be any better than that. Just don't have the reflexes or natural talent for it, although when I was boxing in the amateurs, I tried to pattern myself off of guys like Marlon Starling, Ike Quartey, Winky Wright, etc. who used a high guard defense and fought well inside and popped the jab while coming forward to get in close.
Clear picture, JMP. Betcha don't regret a minute of it. I tried to fight like SRR 'n Joe Brown, as likely as teaching a hippo to toe dance.
All the skinny punchers, I am built exactly like julian jackson except an inch or 2 taller. jackson G man Arguello hearns I'm skinny with long lanky arms and I can swing em
Confidance might be the #1 thing in boxing. If your not sure of yourself. You might freeze up and get hurt.
A guy like Roy Jones or Jimmy Wilde, ridiculous natural talent and athletic abilities. Prime Benitez or Mayweather is pretty interesting too, I'm not particularly a fan of getting punched in the ****ing face.
****, I am not a southpaw. I did spar a CW once as a southpaw and did well, until Dejesus called me out on it and I tried to be cute and quickly switch, the guy dropped me with a straight right. Dejesus is Esteban's cousin and one of my former trainers in Newark, NJ. It was funny how Dejesus called me on it. He said in Spanish, "you can't fight right handed so how you going to fight left handed". He said it as a joke, but he most definitely wanted me to switch back. Dude was so funny. Hall of Fame Gym
