AJ was given the opportunity to continue. The referee clearly called him forward and he stayed on the ropes. By this time he was already getting close to 30 seconds since the knockdown. You have to prove to the referee that you are willing and able to fight on - I believe he was too exhausted rather than mentally impaired.

    LMAO I just noticed this.

Hey, I was right there with Lampley hollering stop it Frank. He's hunched over taking non-stop punishment. But as the post stated, I acknowledged I would've inadvertantly stopped one of the best fights because of consecutive unanswered punches where his hands were at his friggin knees, his eyes swelling.

As far as the Cooper vs Moorer fight, yeah I would've goofed that but here's why-
    This content is protected

At 1:08 his butt is literally sitting on the ropes and he takes a flush shot. Now do me a favor: Pause it exactly at 1:13 & tell me what do you see? I see one arm outside the ropes, his face is turned away from Cooper, while being tagged.

Last favor! Pause it at 1:15, & tell me what do U see? I see a man who is about to fall through the ropes barely holding one hand up to stop his face from being banged on. @ 1:17 ref gets Bert off of him & Moorer is slumped to the canvas with his head down.
Last at 1:18 one arm is completely outside the ropes and he has now spent over 20 seconds looking everywhere but at Bert or the ref.

I thought he was done...I had no clue he had a whole lot left to give.

I would stop every fight Laurence Okolie is in at the start of round 1.

I am not gonna climb on my high horse and say that I could have refereed the fight any better, but I like to think I wouldn´t have stopped the fight at that point.
There was no way to tell if those were legal shots or not. A really **** situation to be in charge of.
Anyone know if the standing 8 was in effect that night?

Lewis was a disgusting creature. The fact that he was allowed back in the sport is shameful.

To be fair, I've always said Jimmy Tibbs should have pulled Watson out.

I would certainly have stopped Lacey in the 8th against Calzaghe. You could see his face changing shape as the round went on. Joe couldn't miss him.
I would have stopped Nick Blackwell at the end of the 8th against Eubank too. I've seen more evenly matched firing squads.
Has anyone seen the third Zale v Graziano fight ? The Ref virtually has to hold Rocky up so Zale can hit him. Horrific.

I’d have awarded Vitaly his rightful win over Lewis.

Khan - maidana round 10 Iv seen fights stopped for much less, khan took an absolute beating

groves - guchnecht - was obvious from about round 8 that Eddie was being punished and walking face first into everything

love fury but I’m still shocked the ref never waved that off

Kovalev I find his stoppage against canelo a bit weird, ok he might of been out but he was given no chance at all to get up? Fury knockdown was more brutal.

I would’ve gave sanders another round or two against vitali, ok vitali was taking over but sanders was still catching vits now and then and sanders was taking his power

Briggs vitali should have been stopped

Gerald Washington should have got more time against wilder, that’s a weird stoppage for me.

Josetio Lopez should’ve got a bit more time before the maidana stoppage
