If you were AJ, how would you approach the 2nd Usyk fight?

Let your hands go, a lot more. How is Usyk, the smaller guy taking that many risks and you are not? That's not acceptable.

First he should wear a NFL helmet to protect the chin.

If I was Joshua I’d let Fury fight him instead !

Yeah the guy who eventually beats Usyk will of adopted this sort of approach I think. It probably won't be AJ though.

Joshua needs to get his head right. After the first round he had a look in his eyes that told me he already was in failure mode. I feel like this guy really has to have his game plan be successful for him to remain confident. I think he thought he was going to win the jab game. When that failed, it seemed like he couldn't switch gears mentally.

Back to bulking up again. 249lbs. Sacrifice the stamina for more power. Aim for a early to mid round stoppage like the Povetkin and Whyte fights.

AJ and his team should watch the Teo Lopez vs Lomachencko fight. Also he should keep his guard up high like he had it in the Charles Martin fight. And don't try to box Usyk, make it a dogfight. Crowd his space and don't let him get cute with the movement. And any time they are tied up, throw bombs to his belly.

He should get Eddie Hearn to ask his buddy Canelo to teach him how to fight behind the high guard. Study Canelo vs Saunders.
Watch how Canelo moved forward with the high guard and struck as Billy moved in and out.. Forgot about the jab battle. The high guard all the way ..
Then use the right hand as a jab to the body like Mayweather.

Basically he has to completely change his style to even have a chance. Thats something that probably cannot be done so the best fight plan strategy is to withdraw and go in another direction

After such a humbling defeat it would be foolish to exercise the rematch straight away.

Usyk himself seems intent to go home and not even think about the rematch just yet.

If Joshua is serious about giving it another go he needs some form of counselling, a mental coach, someone that will bring him back to the KO mindset he had on his way up.

A tuneup or two with the likes of David Price, a guy who is there to be knocked out whilst still a sellable fight to the mass audience, could be ideal to help regain some confidence. Then maybe step it up against the likes of a Chisora.

Forget the newfound caution first approach and just go for the kill then roll the dice with Usyk again later next year and either get him out of there early or go out on his shield and either retire or look at the possibility of a diminished cashout fight vs Fury further down the road.

He knocked out Pulev at 240lbs who has an insane chin. It took Wladmir 4 knockdowns to put him down. He doesn't need to bulk. 240lbs is heavy enough.

Without a drastic decline in usyk then joshua is never beating him. To quick , too much punch resistance, moves too well and won't engage in a dog fight. Only way to get the belts off him is to get fury to fight him and then pray he gets lucky against fury

Another possible strategy for AJ is to try and ape Canelo's recent 'stalk and chop tree' style - tight guard, methodical cut ring off plant his feet and put everything into body shots - not caring if it hits arms or elbows etc.

This would conserve a bit of energy, target where Usyk looked weakest.

I'm not sure if AJ has the moxy to pull that off though - if GGGx2 taught Canelo anything it was that he could trust his chin and always come forward - AJ still has this view of himself as a technical boxer I think, not sure if he can effectively change his style like that without Usyk punishing him, given he doesn't trust his chin and getting tagged disrupts his flow too much.
