would you fight again? This morning I rewatched his fight with Eddie Chambers. And, man, in my eyes, he was dominated, humiliated, beaten up, ... it was a great display of genuine boxing skills, but I'd think this experience breaks a boxer mentally. What's your view on the matter? :good
No. I'd retire. He's studying to become a lawyer. For him, retiring and becoming a lawyer for the Ukrainian mafia might be the best career choice.
I actually think he showed some promise in the Chambers fight, crazy as it sounds. Despite being out boxed he never stopped trying and alot of young heavies would have caved in. Remember a young Wlad Klit getting stopped by Ross Purity? look where he is now. A defeat is not the end and it was not many years ago that a fight such as this would have been seen as a good learning fight for someone like Sascha. Chambers showed superb skill in the fight and would have outclassed almost everyone out there the mood he was in, he was much better than the fighter Povetkin beat.
I'd give him another chance. Let's see if he will work harder and learn from his mistakes or if he just "gets used to" losing. If he improves, more power to him.
He must have a stamina problem. Against Chambers he was doing just fine on those rare occasions when he let his hands go.
He might need a new trainer eventually.... similar to wlad klitschko when fritz sdunek was his trainer... Fritz is also Dimitrenko's trainer... Dimitrenko still has a shot at gaining a world title... This was his first fight against a current top 10 fighter... Maybe Universum can lure Ruiz over there and put Dimitrenko in there.... Anyone who can knock out Ruiz can garner a lot of fans....
How much did he get paid for fight? He probably gets a third of purse, if lucky, after managers and taxes. He can still make money, f that's his motivation, and can still contend, if he can improve. No need to quit after a bad outing. If that were case, a lot of greats would have never made it to title shots.
Whether he improves or not, he can have a fairly lucarative career boxing B-Class fighers on the Euro Circuit
Yes simply because he is a laywer, and, and he should probably concentrate on that. If he does decide to be a dedicated boxer, I see no reason why he couldn't work on his jab and footwork,a nd continue to develope along the lines of being a poor man's wladdy.
Dimitrenko should hire Emanuel Steward, it can only help him with his career. I think Dimitrenko should keep fighting, refocus and improve, and see what happens.
I watched his fight against Chambers and I thought he did good in there. A few silly mistakes, a fightplan that didn't work, no ad******g nor anybackup plan. It's just that Chambers was incredible sharp for that one, he painted his masterpiece, it was his night and he was not going to be denied. I hope we get to see more fights like these out of him. I thought the result was completelly Chambers merit. Chambers managed to avoid Dimitrenko's right hand for the entire 12 rds of the fight, incredible. Dimitrenko should not worry too much, this was a good learning experience and he is still at the top of the HW division. Of course, he's got to improve after this. The proposed bout against Krasniqi is a good stay busy fight and after that he can go directly to another eliminator bout for a mandatory position.
