He was outmatched, but even though I'm not polish, I'm proud of him. He is a highlander with a cheen.. what can you say?
He could try the same that Holyfield or Tyson would try. Both aren't bigger then Tomasz. They would be putting all their weight into overhand rights and hooks to hurt Vitali. Adamek just can't do it. You can't fight like that from the (technically proper) stance that he always employs. You can't throw a one-two and end it with a left hook (to put yourself immediately back in position) to be succesful vs a fighter like Vitali. You need to throw REAL power shots. I'm not mad with Adamek. I'm slightly dissappointed that he's so one dimensional. It's not like I didn't know it before though.
Im not Polish, but i dont se a reason being mad or anything! Adamek did all he could do against a much bigger fighter, after all he is only human.. Adamek have more balls than most heavies combined!
I didn't followed Adamek career can some1 explain to me why he went to HW ? I mean LHW and CW where faaar more suited for him.
They weren't much different in terms of height but both, particularily Tyson, had a more powerful frame than Adamek. Adamek wasn't even a puncher for a light heavyweight, he's got none of the firepower of Tyson, and if you haven't got that you're left with the option of trying to outbox a guy who's massively bigger than you, which ain't happeneing unless you get a pair of stilts. Adamek got 100% of the beating I was expecting he would, I did have a slight hope that he may be able to do something to at least make it interesting but can't say I was disapointed with him that he didn't, it was all you could reasonably expect for a long time light heavy and at least he showed guts which is more than I've gotten used to seeing from Vitali opponents. Main reason: $$$$$$$$ Sub reasons: He was struggling with the LHW limit and cruiser is an ignored division, with no status or money involved.
Too much mass + skill to overcome. Not too dissapointed as i didnt think Adamek would win and that's what happened.
Adamek fights at pretty much exactly the same weight as Holyfield. IMO it's not as much about the frame as it is about the style. Adamek was schooled to fight the way he does now from the beginning. A classic Euro school of boxing. There's no place for swinging hayemakers there. He just can't do it.
