We all know Don likes to see his fighters sink or swim, after that dirrel-esque escape from his sink or swim moment what can King do?

They could try and enforce a rematch and risk another loss and a fight that no one really wants to see or he could give him some soft touches and try and milk him in st Louis.

I fully expect a "Dr Shaw-Hi" style excuse from the Alexander camp this week.

If I was Don i'd throw him in with maidana and see if he can regain some dignity whilst staying clear of bradley.

Soft touches in Da Lou for the next couple. Maidana isn't the dude you want to fight when you don't believe in yourself. Maybe Peterson in the fall.

Don might throw him to the wolves and I don't think HBO will air his fights if they are against soft touches.

Even without exercising the rematch, HBO's on the hook for another 7 figure license fee for Alexander's next fight, a concession they also made with Bradley to get both of them to sign to fight each other.

My guess is you'll see Alexander's camp want a fight vs the worst fighter acceptable by the network in order to get an easy payday while also giving him another chance to look good. HBO will probably want to have him fight Maidana so that way even if Alexander looks bad and loses, it won't be a complete waste of money from them as they'll piggyback Maidana afterward.

Maidana. Alexander needs to "gut it out" to win and Maidana is the guy you want to prove your heart to. Also since he lost & Maidana lost it makes sense for a Maidana/Alexander fight to happen.

I hope he fights Maidana next, but careerwise that's the worst move he can make right now, because it will probably ruin his career.

If I were his camp it's not the fight I'd pick either, but I think that's exactly who HBO is going to push for.

Agreed. It makes sense but it's probably the biggest "money" option that can get made for him now especially since both are coming off a loss. I'm just annoyed. He should've let his hands go more but I understand that the guy is green and needs loads of experience. He's not on Khan's or Bradley's level and yes a Maidana fight could make and most likely break him. Don't mind me I'm still aggravated by last night.

Maidana although an attractive option for HBO would be terrible for Devon, he shoudl rematch Kotelnik or fight Kendal Holt.

I hope they make him fight Maidnaa so he can lose his 3rd fight in a row.

**** Devon quit job Alexander. He pulled a Dirrell/Cintron last night.
