which one would have you the most intimidated and saying your prayers before the opening bell?

For me, it would be Mike Tyson at his peak. Scary dude, imo.

Yep, Sonny Liston was my other choice.

He would scare the hell out of me. I might faint during the referee's instructions.

Foreman...you could never tell if he was a mute or a serial killer.

It's only right that all of us be terrified against ANY champion. Truth is Ron Stander would tear the face off any non boxer. Proberbly even if Ron never boxed.

Being out of your depth is one thing but being out of your depth against a world beater is another ballgame.

The weakest champion who ever lived would crucify all of us without breaking sweat in a real fight. So that in itself is about as intimidating as anything needs to be.

So it's like deciding What would you rather have dropped directly onto the top of your head from a great height, a large car or a battle ship.

    Talk about overkill.

I would be most afraid of the weakest one, because they would be less likely to take it easy on me.

I'd be less afraid of the guys with serious power like foreman and liston because it's only a couple minutes. Getting your face ripped to shreds all night by an Ali or Holmes however? Or a swarming body puncher? MUCH MUCH SCARIER!

Even Ali and Holmes could easily knock out the average Joe. You're flattering yourself if you think you'd last all night with either.

    Exactly.:good

It would be so dangerous for a non boxer to take on any champion fighting for real.

World class fighters that are used to timing the speed of an expert boxer would have an absolute picnic. A so called "non puncher" at world level becomes a one punch killer against a civilian who can't get out of the way of the reach or time of the champion.

A non puncher finds the perfect distance and timing the worse his opponent is, improving his punching power immeasurably.

The anticipation level of an active and capable fighter needs to be developed. A first time civilian is naked by comparison.

    I think Louis.

Mike Tyson is sudden death. But Louis is like Mike Myers, following you emotionless before he kills you.

A young Mike Tyson and I'd have peed in my shorts. But then what the heck would've made me get into the ring with a young Tyson in the first place?

I sparred one round with Pinklon Thomas, who was very much coasting and taking it easy on me, but I kept trying.

Late in the round, I threw a right jab (I'm a southpaw) that caught him in the eye with his eye open, and he blinked a few times and got a very much more serious expression on his face.

I threw my hardest left and he ducked right under it with ease (he had mostly been parrying me) and sunk a right to the gut. (I actually have a picture of this shot on my fridge.) It completely destroyed me, out of breath and my legs turned to jelly. The he dropped a (probably not full speed) left hook on my jaw.

I didn't fall, but a stiff wind would have blown me over. Thankfully the bell rang.

I still have a clicking in my right jaw to this day.

He was super nice after, asked immediately if I was OK and hung around to take a couple of pictures with me.

I guess that's my claim to fame. And I have no desire to repeat the experience with any current, former, prime or past-it heavyweight champ.
