Honestly, the only choice that doesn't make Floyd look like a ***** at this point is to fight Mosely. If he ducks Mosely even his most diehard fans wont be able to defend him

Any of those. He NEEDS those fights. There is no point coming out of retirement to do another fight that is not one of those guys.

I strongly believe he will fight Mosley. The rumors are just that - rumors. Or a PR move to get him better money.

Williams is a dangerous fight but less money than a Mosley fight.

 

If he doesn't fight Shane now-then it is a shame. He has Shane to fight. Shane is a legend and is champion in his division and available and this fight should happen. Look I do not fault anyone for not wanting to get beaten up and embarasssed, but if Floyd really does not want to take chances in boxing then why is he in the sport? The sport is not about him and what he can get, it is about the fans. He has become a rich man in boxing. Just his nickname of money always bothered me. That is not what a great fighter thinks about. Thomas Hearns always was concerned with did the fans get their moneys worth. It was about fans to him and if he put on a good show. With Mayweather it is about his pocketbook, and with his way of thinking he should not be boxing. We have enough guys in boxing for the sport to do well, and anyway, if Floyd does not fight anyone of note what does it matter. He can just stand there and shadowbox and people pay him and he can say that proves he is the greatest fighter ever. After Hagler beat Hearns , Hearns said to Hagler in the ring we gave them a good fight, and Hagler said they got their moneys worth. That is why that fight is remembered. It was fought with heart. And look, both guys are seen as great. Taking the chance was worth it for both Hagler and Hearns. It is better to fight a legend and lose than to not fight him.

your devils advocate is good. I agree. The thing about Floyd is the big risk thing is what boxing is about. That is what big fights and fights are about-proving how good he is. He thinks he is smarter than everyone, but if he beats Mosley his ranking goes up and he can actually say he beat a legend who was champ and it guarantees him even more money. That would be something impressive, not some guy like Marquez who was 3 divisions too high in weight and not an ATG. Floyd does not deserve to really earn millions the way he acts.

I would pick Shane, then Pac, then Paul! Its like the Colts or Saints picking the rams to play them in the superbowl, If he picks any other fighters then those guys.

Nah, **** all that businessman ***** bull****, this is boxing.... any sort of win over Mosely no matter how tough or close will be better than a 12 rds to 0 job over a C level fighter.... he`s had his tune-up vs JMM, all mega-fights vs his elite comp is the only acceptable way to go from now until the final retirement.

 

Holding off is unacceptable, that sort of inactivity is practically another retirement.
