I genuinly cant think of any 'new' attacks on Alexis Arguello.

Perhaps his dodgy schoice of clothes colours in his election campaign.

The only time we ever saw liston break down after 10 rounds was when Leotis Martin caught him with a good right hand...
I don't really know about Marshall, because I've never seen Liston-Marshall, but the Ali losses don't really amount to anything other then Liston is starting to show his age and Ali's style is poison to him.

 

Hearns - its not just he lost to Barkley but that fact was easy for someone as average to read his rythm and time a massive counter - amateur stuff, weak on the inside, ineffective at mid range/inside.

 

Hamed - too damn short for his division, I never hear that as critisism, but his leaning back defense and ability to land would be far improved if he was taller/rangier. It did mean he was as strong as an ox though

 

Didn't know you ranked those as your favourites PP, or is it just too hard for you to find flaws with Roy?

 

Duran as lightweight, someone mentioned a motivated Ike Williams. I still would take Manos de Piedras. However, such a fighter would have the best chance. Straight middleweight punches from a welter. And a relentlessness to match Roberto's.

 

Roberto Duran won his title with a low blow. He is one of the few ATG's to be Ko'd by one punch, and also quit without injury.

My one main criticism of Sugar Nicky would be that with his sheer level of talent, he just makes the sport unfair and somewhat disinteresting to fans who want to see a competitive fight game.

 

Ali was vulnerable to the ones who found his rhytm and to the ones whose rhytm he didn't find as easy. He was more vulnerable in thise sense than a more text book fighter would be, since adopting text book technique will mean that you leave less openings. You always throw a left before the right cross, always keep one hand protecting the chin when punching, always keep the chin tucked in, etc, etc.
