As a fighter , yes take easy money if someone is giving it to you. That doesn't immune the boxer from being ridicule from a boxing fan's perspective.

If they can't even make the $35 million dollars to pay Canelo if he fights the second Charlo sister, why would PBC green-light that fight? You haven't read the contract and neither have I but I doubt it says Canelo gets to pick the three opponents. If it does, well I guess PBC is ****ed. That was dumb on their part.

But who cares about the business aspect of this? The fight people are clamoring for is Benavidez-Canelo, not Charlo, Berlanga, or Munguia. You can hide behind the PBC contract but Canelo is obviously ducking Benavidez, without question.

I care about the business aspect, because the business aspect is what moves boxing.

The business aspect is what has kept many fights from happening.

There's almost no way Benavidez-Canelo happens this year. If all the stars align There's a very slim chance it can possibly happen in September, but it seems highly unlikely.

At best it happens in 2025, but Benavidez might want to fight the winner of Beterbiev-Bivol I'm early 2025, and then if he wins Canelo I'm September, if Benavidez loses, possibly May.

You can justify it all you want, Canelo is ducking Benavidez and hiding behind the PBC contract to fight someone who is guaranteed to lose them money. I doubt we see Benavidez-Canelo at all. Canelo probably fights Munguia and retires.

Business wise the Benavidez Canelo fight should have been a certainty for this year so the fact it didn't happen proves Canelo is to blame. The stars DID align perfectly. Both active, on the same platform, money no issues, huge demand, perfect day, it was all PERFECT for business and the sport. Canelo derailed it all.

How is Canelo to blame if he wasn't one of the three fighters PBC offered him?

Like I said. You have to be a total idiot to believe Haymon would not offer Canelo the biggest fight possible. Funny thing is it shouldn't even matter because I'm pretty sure Canelo could have asked for it himself. Rafael reports it was offered anyway. Your argument is destroyed on every level.

Canelo alternates between hard fights and mattresses. It's not unreasonable given that a boxer's job is also to squeeze all the possible value out of their career. Bivol was harder than Benavidez imho.

I would & could not take the cowards way out by ducking Benvidez. I would have too much self respect.
Canelo claims he is the face of boxing Even the KING of boxing surely the KING wont be a coward?or will he ??
Remember he blatantly ducked GGG & coward like handed the WBC title back to avoid having to face him. In doing so he lost the respect of the great Mexican fight fans who disowned him. Hes a proven coward you see
You'd be a coward too huh Angry Birds??Id be ashamed of myself I could never do that

Does ANYONE know how much money Canelo needs in order to face Benavidez vs what he might get to face Berlinga/Mungia? Seems many Canelo fanboys love to tout the 'business side' and risk/reward BS... But all of that means zilch w/o figures to add a bit of context.
