over the next 18 months who would you plot his career? Who would you put in him against, how often would you have him fight, how would you market him and how quickly would you have him fighting for a world title?

try to get a HBO date this year against a top 10 at 130 before the end of year and then get a title shot earily next at one of the world champs at 130

He is meant to be fighting in October on HBO, but no opponent named as of yet.

His people were projecting him in a title match by December.
(After his match on ESPN earlier this month)

    He is Championship level already.

There is no need for him to have loads of fights, he can fight for a title very soon. This isn't a kid, this is a guy with an extensive amateur pedigree, he's 28.

I would be looking at Valero, he's ranked 3 at the WBA. Extremely flawed fighter, Gamboa will take him to the cleaners.

He should look to get on either the Diaz-Katsidis card or the JMM-Casa card, both on HBO on 6th September and 13th September respectively, or the undercard of Guzman-Campbell on Showtime, also on the 13th.

He could either go after the vacant IBF title at 126, by beating #3 ranked Cristobal Cruz and then looking to set up a fight with the #2 Orlando Salido. Or, he could step up to 130, and look to go after the WBC title, as he is the #3 after Humberto Soto and Francisco Lorenzo. However, I would only advise that if Lorenzo claims the title as I feel Soto would be an extremely difficult fight at this stage.

Alternatively, he could go straight after Edwin Valero for the WBA title at 126.

Chris John may be getting stripped of the title for not showing up at the weigh in, if he does this'll leave Gamboa and Jose Rojas fighting for the title (I assume). Gamboa's ranked #2 at 126 while Rojas is ranked #3, with #1 vacant. If I were Gamboa's management I'd jump on this oppurtunity should John get stripped, it's an almost garaunteed belt considering the opponent. From their I'd put him in against someone like Rocky Juarez, it would be a good test and a measuring stick to see how he'd do at the top level. This is all assuming Rojas will actually turn up this time.

Wasn't he supposed to fight Rojas before Seeger?
