If you think Tyson was in his prime when he fought Douglas, you know nothing of Iron Mike.

It's about 50/50 the way I see it, taking a pre-exhile Ali vs a peak version of Tyson from the years '86-'88, with his original team in his corner. That was the version that everyone speaks of when talking about a "prime Tyson" and that was the version that would've given any HW hell.

People take into the account Tyson's pre-prime win over Quick Tillis where he didn't look too sharp without taking into account Ali being dropped and hurt by far lesser fighters, and being susceptible to a left hook and a variety of punches because of his very flawed defense, technically. He would throw a combo on a fighter and then back off with his hands down, which is why he got caught the majority of the time by a big punch after he'd backed off. And if he's getting tagged by guys like Cooper, Jones, Banks, etc he'd definitely get tagged by Tyson.

As it stands, a lot of that happened to a young Ali as well, and we never really got to see the best of Ali in his exhile, but from what we've seen, I'd say Tyson has a very good chance of beating Ali at his best. Ali also has the chance of outboxing Tyson and frustrating him down the stretch to a UD win.

And are we seriously not past the "If you stood up to Tyson he would crumble" myth, yet? That is just plain ignorance combined with lack of knowledge.
