There's also his corner throwing water on his back between rounds vs Weidman to get extra time and him holding onto the cage a lot against Jacare to avoid being taken down. This weight incident really is just par for the course at this point.
Not by a long shot not even in his own division FFS that Branch guy he last beat was a bigger douche.
Oh my god...where were you when Kennedy was illegally holding Romero's glove with one hand and punching him with the other? Where is your hatred for that? That was before the end of the 2nd round. Cheater, Tim Kennedy, trying to get an advantage over a stunned fighter by breaking the rules. Where were you? Honestly, I didn't give a $hit about Kennedy holding his glove. I think it just happened. It's hard to imagine that was premeditated. In regards to Romero and Jacare, I thought Jacare at least deserved a draw there. I don't remember any excessive holding by Romero, as I wanted Jacare to win and would've been looking for a chance to get a point somewhere. Thought Jac was down 10-8 after the first. It could've happened though, I'd have to watch it again. It's like you're fixated on making Romero a villain and exaggerating any line he's blurred.
I'm not fixated on trying to portray him as a villain, I understand sometimes questionable things can happen in a chaotic sport like MMA but there is an undeniable recurring trend of Romero and his team bending the rules in his fights to give him an unfair advantage.
We disagree. I think he unfairly received this label after the Kennedy fight, and people have been hypersensitive since. Tim Kennedy cheated against Romero before the break between rounds that caused controversy. I wonder if Kennedy has ever grabbed the fence while an opponent was trying to take him down. I don't know the answer, but if it's "yes" I'm not going to spend the rest of my life labeling him as a cheater.
I despise weight cheats, but if he stepped in to save the card, and fought earlier than his previously scheduled fight, then I give him a pass, as the time frame of his routine was altered.
I can find plenty of dislike for any public figure if look for it. I don't know of another athlete that I can find to be more synonymous with the word "douche" than Luke Rockhold. If I had to bet, Bill Maher is probably the only public figure that can rival him in this regard. I like Bill Maher, but even I have to admit he's douchey. A quick glance around the web turns up: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=169818273 Is Luke Rockhold unlikeable in every facet? Watching embedded was such a stark contrast seeing Weidman around his family and friends then you see Rockhold around his trainer/nutritionist being a stupid bully, but not in a fun and playful way just in a douchey jock way. Rockhold was a douche even back in the Strikeforce days. http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/news/bisping-rockhold-a-hanging-with-teenagers-douche “When Luke Rockhold is done making a douche bag out of himself, hanging out at pool parties with teenagers, if he wants to get back to business and step into the Octagon, I'm the man for the job,” I am channeling my inner douche in honor of Luke Rockhold. Unlike your boy Bill Maher Rockhold is easily accessed by the public and makes no secret where he trains. You should stop in during his next camp and tell him how distasteful and what an assault to your moral compass you find him.
