do you think he would train as hard as he was against khan? He definitely thought that this fight was a walk in a park. Anyone with serious power at 140 knocks maidana out for sure.. hatton that fought castillo would destroy him in 3.

he didn't get the trainer he wanted when Nacho dumped him, and that could've played a part psycologically too.

I agree about Hatton knocking him out too. Fans today love to underrate guys they were biased against, like Hatton and Tszyu. Have a look at the state of 140 today though, with guys like Khan, Maidana, Alexander and Bradley at the top. Tszyu and Hatton at their best would have little trouble destroying these guys.

it shouldnt matter who your fighting you should always be prepared this is a bad attitude to have if he has cut corners

but honestly morales was just outclassing him skillwise im not even sure maidana was tired as to more frustrated that he couldnt work out how to get morales and morales's combinations were just beautiful i felt 10 again lol

This is a stupid question considering Maidana was obviously in better shape against Morales than against Khan. I've only seen Maidana from Kotelnik onward but he looked worse against Khan than any other fight I've seen him in, and this was before the knockdown.

Well...the knockdown did happen in the first round, so I'm not sure there's much to that.

Yes, because that's a big part of being a professional fighter. Even if he was over-confident, he should still have shown his opponent that respect.

I'm not Floyd's biggest fan but he looked in great shape whether he was fighting Mosley, Hatton or Henry Brussels.

I'm not sure what to make of Maidana now. He's struggled against a faded Corley and Morales. He's also done very well against Khan and Ortiz - two guys who can flatten anyone at 140. I'd like to think Maidana had a bad night against Morales. But I think Maidana will always be one of those guys who are exciting against the right opposition but will fall just short of reaching elite status.
