For Pacquiao a boxing legacy doesn't mean that much especially if he is going into politics. If he loses it might ruin his chances in office. Therefore I think it would be wises for him to take 10 mil less for an easier fight.

Plus if I (Pac) win this fight. Imagine what I could demand in a rematch

    Floyd budged plenty in 09..

from 0 cutoff days to 14

He budged on a 5050 split despite having better numbers...

He agreed to ten MILLION for every pound over 147

    I mean damn...

Did he act like that with Judah after he lost to Baldimor ? Or Cotto after he lost to Cheato and Manny ?

This is about this "special" fight and this fight only. I just want to see the fight. Let the winner make more money. If we support this ego/money battle, we will never see the fight. Haven't you noticed? I mean damn... I'm a fan of boxing. I try not to be biased when posting. Do you?

He can't make that kind of money anywhere else.

Floyd can go make 50/50 type money elsewhere. He just made 45 million which is in the ball park of what each fighter would get with 50/50. Probably something like $105 million is what they would split.

Yes. Idiots need to realize that 40million is a large share of the PPV.

They don't get that there's only about $105 million on the table to split between PPV and guarantee's.

With Manny taking $40 million of that it would leave $65 million to Mayweather, who is the bigger draw as the numbers support.

Exactly. 40million would come out to about 35-40% split. Its the biggest guarantee in the history of the sport. More money than manny has made in his entire career.

It's pointless working with estimates (even good faith ones, unlike yours), what if it sells way better than expected? Compare with DLH FMJ: one crossover star, part time boxer not ranked top 20 p4p, and a guy who'd never hit 400k buys before. No back story, just a business transaction, fight lukewarm as expected. Here you got 2 crossover guys ranked 1 and 2 p4p that exceed DLH in prior ppv sales. No precedent. That's why only a percentage split makes sense.

    Forbes Top 10
    Floyd Mayweather: $85 million
    Manny Pacquiao: $62 million
    Tiger Woods: $59.4 million
    LeBron James: $53 million
    Roger Federer: $52.7 million
    Kobe Bryant: $52.3 million
    Phil Mickelson: $47.8 million
    David Beckham: $46 million
    Cristiano Ronaldo: $42.5 million
    Peyton Manning: $42.4 million

Fair enough, but the atleast Pacquiao should have a share at the PPV.
Pacquiao had a guaranteed purse of $26 million against Bradley, don't know if PPVs were including in that purse but still he deserves a share of the PPV against Mayweather jr.

How about making the guaranteed purse as the proper split.

    But the PPV is 50-50.

Pacquiao draws the international market as well.

That would be much more reasonable.
