IF you were Marquez what stipulations would you require to accept a rematch with PAC?

demanding 50-50 would be effectively pricing himself out of a fight. if the PPV results were 1.5M as earlier reported, then marquez can demand alot but only becasue of that and not because he arguably beat pacquiao. still 50-50 might be pushing it. it means that both fighters would be guaranteed $20M to $25M each.

realistic demand is to demand at least $10M which is the purse he would be receiving in a rematch clause if he had beaten pacquiao. the other suggested demands like mexican judges, mexican refs are just BS. getting the fight in mexico might work but remember that pacuaio's team need to approve of it also.

 

Somebody forgot/should tell JMM not to fight the same way he did when he fought Pac the second time around.... because he makes Pac look bad...

It amazes me to see that Pac fans are even considering JMM-PAC IV, when in the past they were actually saying that there was no need for a second fight??? and then after that there was no need for a third fight???

I remember the times they were saying that JMM was worst than a ***** going after Pac, following him everywhere to get a rematch that JMM didn't earned it.... saying things like "Pac has a bigger fish to fry"....:yep

 

jmm got the judges when they declared it a draw (based on one of the judge's scoring error) and retained jmm as a champion. pacquiao actually wanted the immediate rematch and it was the jmm fans who are defending jmm's decision not to fight pacquiao immediately since they would be paid only $50k more than the purse they received before. pac and jmm got paid around $700k the first time and they woudl get around $750k in th immediate rematch. jmm disagrees with it and paquiao went on to fight morales three times.

 

I am not talking about the negotiations... I am not talking about what Pac did or didn't do or say.... I am not talking about what JMM did or din't do or say... I am talking about what Pac fans said at that time.... AND WHAT PAC FANS SAID WAS THAT THERE WAS NO NEED OF A SECOND FIGHT.... PERIOD... and when the second fight came on, and after that, Pac fans said "NO NEED FOR A THIRD FIGHT" "THERE ARE BIGGER FISH TO FRY".

My point is: JMM is not asking for a fourth fight..... it is Pac's team whose asking for that...

My question is: Why is it that Pac fans are not talking or saying at this time that there is no need for Pac Vs JMM IV???? Why aren't they saying that there is a bigger fish to fry???

If I were Marquez I would stipulate the following:

1. Nacho Berestain would score the fight
2. Rafael Marquez would be the referee
3. After the fight, he would get to plough Jinkee
4. Marquez gets to punch Buboy in his stomach

 

Marquez was guaranteed 5 million for this past fight with Pac. Reports are that with the additional % of the PPV he will get, Marquez purse will exceed 10million.

I think Marquez' guarantee for a 4th fight should at least equal his total purse for the the last fight, and then add a % of the PPV exceeding 1 million.

Marquez should be getting paid significantly more for a 4th fight, thats for certain.

you would be hardpressed to find a pacquiao fan back then saying that there is no need for a 2nd fight. jmm got away with a draw and retained his belt and feels that he doesn't need to fight as soon as possible. that's the only point i'm arguing in your statement.

 

it depends on how much he is getting from the PPV upside. does he get 5% of PPV revenue if total PPV sales exceeds fror example a certain number like 900k buys?

based on the early estimate of 1.5M buys, he would be taking an extra $4.4M only if he is guaranteed 5% of total buys at $59 a buy. 5% is only a guess so maybe the $10M figure is not actually a bad figure compared to your suggestion.
