If you were part of the Pac or Cotto camps who would you use for sparring?

The obvious pick for Cotto is Valero, but anyone else out there that would fit Pacman's style? He should stay away from Lara or he could get soften up like Hatton did.

Pacman's camp wants to bring in Khan for sparring, but who would be the ideal sparring partner to fit Cotto? Personally, Victor Ortiz comes to mind, but hes with gbp so that wont happen.

For Cotto I would spar him with Erislandy Lara or Valero as you said or maybe even Gamboa.

For Pacquiao a good sparring partner would be Ortiz or maybe even Maidana.

Oh and BTW Boom, Cotto would not get soften up by Lara in sparring, Cotto is no Ricky Hatton at this point in Hatton's career. Cotto would beat Lara in a real boxing match right now.

yeah, your right. Cotto should be able to handle Lara alright.

Interesting you said Gamboa, I might one up you and say Guzman as well.

Cotto=Valero, Pac=Urbano Antillon (Even though he just got KO'd, hes still a tough guy with similar styles to Cotto). Urbano throws a lot of left hooks and is a naturally bigger guy than Pac. I heard stories about how Urbano and Pac go at it in their sparring sessions.

I don't know if your first sentence was to be taken sarcastically but if it was then Lara is getting overhyped in ways he should'nt be, especially given how Cotto has beaten guys like Mosley and Clottey.

Guzman would be a good choice if Cotto decides he wants to train in New York as he has done in the past.

    Not sarcasm bro.

You're right I may be overrating Lara's power and size somewhat.

you don't bring in dangerous fighters that are already professional.

Pac will bring in the same guys as he has done in the past.

    Cotto will do the same.

I dont understand why you guys are mentioning Maidana.

Is it for Pacman to prepare for Cotto's power? Maidana is crude as hell and Cotto is very well polished.

    No problem big dog.:good

Boom have you ever seened Cotto's fight with Mohammed Abdulaev?

The reason why I ask that is because Abdulaev fights very similarly to Cotto which is why Cotto had a tough time with him early on in the fight, Abdulaev just recently came back from a long hiatus and would make a good sparring partner for Pac.

Wrong stance, obviously, but I think Pac should bring Quintana in for a week just to get a sense of the Puerto Rican style. Antillon can give him good rounds, but I don't think he can really duplicate Cotto's defense.

Watching it right now (*4 rds in). His defense looks about as tight and similiar as Cotto's so far. If hes close to he is now to that fight then, he would make great sparring for Pacman.

Cotto should spar with some "Flyweights" & get adjusted to Pac's speed.
Team Roach would be wise to bring in some fighter's w/good footwork & movement.
