If you were to hype a boxer up, what would you say?

But he also later resented that his coach got all the credit.

...And hopefully the vicious little man who is not actually able to fight but only pretends to be tough gets KOed by his fighter.
Then his charge KOs the opponent, but he comes to before the abusive fake alpa male.

Who should be happy that his strategy "worked".
Then let's see if he cares enough about his fighters to try such a farce again.
Or not, since he does not relish brain damage & permanent disability.

Excellent post JT. The meaning and understanding of a lot of what's said during the course of a fight has already been well and truly established via deeper interactions in the gym. And like you said, it's borne out of knowing your fighter and customizing the right, motivational "triggers" for him. By fight time, certain phrases and expressions should present almost like post hypnotic cues.

For this fella, "Cleaning Woman" was all it took to enrage him. Imagine hearing those two words coming from the corner during a fight. What the...? Lol. OMG, Rachel Ward was gorgeous. Yes, beside the point but still, so very true. Bryan Brown is a lucky dog.

Good take. That reminds me of Ray Arcel famously getting in Holmes face between rounds of his fight with Gerry Cooney and saying "Are you going to let this BUM take your title?"

    I'd probably say something like...

"Nevermind the effen fans Gypsy, you're the effen King, who cares about a Klit or AJ or Usyk, fight Whyte or Whyte or Dillion or Whyte... you can do it, you're the King!"

    "awe Whyte" :sisi1 :dancer2: :number_one:

One of my favorite motivational conversations between corner and fighter, from the movie Diggstown

Gabriel Caine: He's bigger than you are. He's tougher. He's faster. He's younger thant you are. He hasn't fought 22 rounds today, but remember this... you are BLACK!

Honey Roy Palmer: What the hell is that supposed to mean?

    Gabriel Caine: I don't know. I mean it's... I'm trying to inspire you. It's a Roots kinda thing. It's a motivation thing.

Honey Roy Palmer: Well, you're **** at motivation.

I can't find the quote but later on Louis Gossett is fighting a tough fight and looks to his corner and says something like "someone must of told him he's black too"

Come on , men. You are great. But , you are too losing NOW. You are understand this? You WANT for this? For box you are or for other sport? You wish for badminton? No , I know , you are BOX. You can , if from my eyes you are see this , you are CHAMPION. For all , for years , for life , accept lose for this? Forever? No. I BELIEVE it for you possible.

Now is time for KNOCK OUT , because ... JUDGE gives for him , you want? You accept this? Or for WIN , YOURSELF , KNOCK OUT OF CHAMPION.

I would tell him that his kids were watching at home on TV, that he would have to look them in the eyes when he returned home, that he didn't want his kids to be ashamed of him..

I'd remind him of all the people of his home country, that the pride of his people was on the line..that he did not want to disgrace his people in front of the world.

I'd remind him of Levander Johnson, who was literally willing to die fighting, and tell him he could not dishonor Johnson's legacy by giving up.

And lastly I'd remind him of Deontay Wilder's statues, and remind him that only true warriors get statues.

Then I'd slap him across the face and yell at him to get the hell of his a**, and not to come back to the corner until he had knocked his opponent out!
