how would it look? prime tyson- + stronger legs much better handspeed much more punching power better defense better offensive arsenal prime holyfeild- + much more mental toughness possibly stronger upperbody better recuprative ability when hurt better infighter
Holy was also better at blocking shots IMO, although Mike's head and upperbody movement was an overall better defense. Holyfield had a better jab in his prime, and IMO was better at controlling range and possibly pace. I think Holyfield's offensive arsenal was just as varied as Tyson's, even though the shots themselve were considerably less damaging than Mike's. As a whole, Evander was more versatile as well. Both were terrific combinations punchers and both had good stamina. Everything you said pretty much fits as well.
how holefield could be cosidered to be a better in fighter then tyson is just crazy tyson is possibly the best in fighter i have ever seen
I agree with most of what was written above, apart from the fact that I thought that Tyson had an incredible jab at his absolute peak. He was outjabbing and knocking back Holmes with that shot .
The two outstanding differences are Tyson's power and Holyfield's heart in other ways they both pretty much the same although they are not similar in the way they fight.
Tyson is even with, or better than, Holyfield in almost every regard. What Tyson lacks is Holyfield's will to win. Tyson never really wrestles with anyone in the clinch, you can not get strength comparison there. In the 3rd round, of their 2nd fight, you get to see Tyson bull Holyfield on his way to being disqualified. Tyson looked like the stronger man in that round. Holyfield's first victory over Tyson was 12 weeks worth of strategy crafted by Don Turner. When orthodox fighters face each other, normally their lead legs are lined up between each other's feet. Turner had Holyfield line up with his rear leg between his opponent's feet for the Tyson fight. This took away Tyson's left hook. What that stance did is line Holyfield up for Tyson's right hand. That is the first punch Mike hit Evander with in their first fight. If Mike were really trying to out think Evander, maybe he would have noticed this. Turner also had Holyfield tie Tyson up and push him on the inside. This pushing served 2 purposes. One, Tyson doesn't really get into shoving matches. Two, if Tyson were to try to punch, the punches would lose a lot of heat pushing through Holyfield's weight. This strategy would make it necessary for Tyson to adapt, and adaptation is not Tyson's strong suit. I don't think I have ever seen Mike Tyson hurt as bad from a punch as I have seen Evander Holyfield. Holyfield just fought back like losing was not an option. Holyfield loved to push his will on opponents. Tyson just wanted to impose his power.
