This comes from people that started watching boxing recently and know nothing about what Hopkins used to be.....a DANGEROUS puncher.

You dont get the name The Executioner by counterpunching your way to decisions.

He was a MONSTER when he was younger....an absolute MONSTER!

As for being hurt by him. Tarver was hurt by him. Tito was stopped by him. Wright was hurt by him. Oscar was hurt by him. Glen Johnson was DECIMATED by him. Joppy was almost killed....ever see the pics of William after that fight?

And so was Taylor. There is NO SHAME in being hurt by one of the best fighters of this generation (and easily/arguably top 25-30 ever....).

Nothing wrong with being hurt by Hopkins - I don't think Taylor's chin is suspect because of this one shot.

I agree with you mate... I posted this so people who claim Taylor has a shaky chin cause he was hurt by Hopkins, to give me legitimate reasons.

I agree with you 100 %. Plus its stupid that these people are here saying Taylor has a shaky chin when he's never really been SERIOUSLY hurt and NEVER been knocked down. He did get buzzed by Hopkins but its not like his legs were all over the place like Zab "Chicken Dance" Judah. Taylor has a good chin.. I'm picking him to beat Pavlik

Which brings me to my next question, which I might edit and put in my original post...

IF YOU ARE STOPPED BY A POWERFUL PUNCHER WHO LANDS A GOOD SHOT(S), DO YOU HAVE A SHAKY CHIN?

i.e. If Pavilk DOES stop Taylor, does this prove all those saying Taylor has a weak beard, right?

But desptite my feelings that Jermain's chin is not suspect, Pavlik is the kind of puncher who can hurt just about anybody. He has so much leverage and he has that snap at the end of his punches. If he hits Jermain with one of those right hand and the end of it catches JT's chin, it will have a big effect.

Although I'm personally tipping Jermain, I agree. Pavlik is a great puncher... But would you say that legitimizes those people's claim who say Taylor has a bad chin if Pavlik was to get him outta there (even if it was early, perhaps?).

It probably would....if Taylor were to get stopped in the mid to late rounds after taking a good deal of shots, people would say he has a good chin. If he was stopped early or by one punch, many people would say he has a glass jaw.

    HELL YES....

NAH J/P hELL NO THAT JUST MEAN HE GOT CUAGHT BY A GUY WITH POWER NOW IF SPINKS OR SOME ONE LIKE HIM STOPED jt OR ANY BODY THEN HELL YES.. THIS FEELING OF JT HAVING BAD WHISKER COMES FROM HIS TEAM NOT PUTTING HIM IN WITH PUNCHER AFTER THE B-HOP FIGHTS CUZ HE WAS ROCKED. SO THAT WHERE IT COMES FROM. NOT CUZ HE WAS ROCKED

Ive said since the beginning. This is always a possibility with a big puncher. Anytime you see a fighter like that, there is always the outside chance that he could stop the other guy with one big hit.

BUT, if styles make fights, a fighter like Pavlik is tailor made (or Taylor made...........ok that was just terrible, I apologize :-( ) for someone like Jermaine. He has a great jab. Great footwork. Great movement. Etc.

I see this as an exciting fight...but one that will be a wide UD for Taylor.
