Anderson is a hugely one dimensional striker,he can counter bum rushing brawlers and that's it. He would get obliterated by Fedor or any other decent stand up heavy, hence his reticence to fight at his natural weight. Why doesn't he call out a prime fighter from 168 to 200? Instead of a shot to pieces Jones? Because he would get toyed with. The guy needs to grow some and fight in k-1 or boxing if he wants to taunt his opponents for not playing to his strengths and striking, in a sport where various disciplines are allowed to be utilized.
Give him credible opponents , Rampage , Vera , Jones , Rashad , Shogun , Wanderlei , Belfort , GSP , Couture . Give him any of them and youve got an exciting competetive fight on paper and youve got an early TKO in every one of those fights for Silva maybe barring Shogun :deal
Silvaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! :bbb Dana White should sign up the 2-3 most dangerous middleweight strikers in the world, and have a press conference. White: "Anderson, here is your punishment. We got these guy so they can beat you up. And believe me, they can." "Fight them, or relenquish your belt. KO or submission win gets 20% bonus" The buzz will be big, plus Silva will probably be more motivated to put on a show..
If he doesn't get bum rushed he stands around doing nothing and mocking his opponents. His whole game is based on countering,he couldn't push a fight if his life depended on it. He participates in mma, the clue is in the name. If he wants a pure stand up fight then participate in k-1 or boxing, he won't. Very overrated fighter.
