If you're not a Pacquiao fan yet, why not?

Two things.

My disregard for him had less to do with his style than the division he was fighting in. I simply never followed the lower weights much. I mainly follow everything from JWW - SMW. So when he started moving up, I recognized his talents, but not before being bombarded by his fans. Even so, I don't hate him, and I don't think most Mayweather fans hate him. Which brings up the next thing.

The hatred that Pac fans display against Mayweather and his fans is inexcusable. He is not perfect, and is quite annoying at times with his ignorance. But Pac fans go way overboard. Read any forum from ESB, to the comments on Youtube, to any other boxing site. It's vicious, racially charged, and personal. Most Mayweather fans that I know have no hatred for Pac, and only react to the ridiculous personal hatred that Pac fans display in general. So for me, it would be so satisfying to see there clowns shut the **** down. And like I said before, I don't have anything against Pac personally, but his fans make me want to see him stretched... badly.

 

Strangely i used to be a big Pac fan but I have gone steadily off himsince Barrera 2.

I think hes just got too popular for my liking if that makes sense.
I prefered him when he was abit rawer, and not such a star with all the bull****

 

Well said clarification. As a Filipino Pac fan, I find true ******* behavior to be a disgrace (youtube is the worst). I'll read news articles at Pacland but won't bother ever looking at their forum unless I wanted to get a laugh at the low boxing IQ that's displayed there. As for Floyd, I'm definitely a fan of his inside the ring, and hate the example he sets outside of it.

 

Funny thing is, I was screaming my head off for pac when he fought Hatton and DeLaHoya. I was indifferent in the Cotto fight. And of course, I was rooting for Clottey. I have no doubt Pac is a special talent, and will go down as one of the greates fighters in history.

I happen to agree that there are reasons like that (Mayweather fans, Mexican fans), and added my thoughts on the that "fan excuse", which is pretty absurd for a reason. That is basically my point why replied on that post. To point out that "fan excuse".

Read my second post right after that though. I don't think I am interested nor I want people to like Pac.

Why not? his fans , you can't even ignore them, they're all over the place , they can't talk about anything else , he's nothing special outside the ring either but i don't really care about that, he is fun to watch , i would normally root for a guy like him but i always find myself rooting against him because of his fans same thing with Mayweather except i don't like mayweather inside or outside the ring, that guy is boring,annoying,arrogant,insecure,etc.

Still i'd take Floyd fans over *******s anyday at least there aren't that many of them.

I don't think those baseless steroid claims alone would have lost him any fans. His actions afterwards, however, and his lack of willingness to go ahead and put the rumors to rest are what have probably cost him a few fans. I cant imagine it cost him very many though.

 

Barrera, Morales, Marquez, De la Hoya, Hatton, Cotto....? Sounds like "cherry picking"?
