If you're not a Pacquiao fan yet, why not?

I'm somewhat of a fan, I like the guy and appreciate his amazing talent, but Roach's quotes about the quality of their past opponents along with the fact that Pac/JMM's career would have been greatly different had Marquez rightly won cheapens it for me from time to time.

 

Starting from today, you should look out for threads of Pac fans stating Pac would beat this and that ATG welter. I guarantee you won't find many if any. AND if you do, check the posters history, guaranteed it's actually a Pac hater that wants attention. Seriously, this stuff about these threads popping up about Pac beating SRR or SRL etc gotta stop, they are nowhere to be seen. Sorry. No more than other ridiculous threads for other fighters that's for sure.

 

It's easy to say "Pac should have fought Zaheem", but sometimes it just doesn't work out that way. Boxing matchups aren't as calculated as they are in other sports. Pacquiao could have fought and beaten Zaheem, and they would say he should have fought someone else...it's all relative.

People like different styles. I like slick fighters or fighters that make it look pretty, or both if they can pull it off. Mayweather fits that bill 100 times better than anyone else fighting right now, let alone emmanuel.

I couldnt stand the general forum Pacquiao/Pac fan bashing back in the mid-late 2000s. I barely joined in on the discussions because there was too much hate.

 

Nate Campbell called him out. Everyone said Nate was "racist", "full of crap", and "there are none at his weight". I even kind of agreed.

Now? Wow.

 

Back then, it wasn't like this. Back then, Pac would have been called a ducker for ducking Morales and not avenging his loss, they would have said Morales lost to Raheem due to styles (which was true).

 

You are right about that, but that in no way means Pac is superior to Mayweather... They are different style fighters.

Though Pac has been more impressive against opponents, I believe Pac's style can be beaten, I am not too sure Mayweather's can.

I also don't think Mayweather is "dull" He puts on a display of masterful performance time and time again.

I like slick fighters too. I appreciate the "sweet science", but come on...can you honestly say you were thoroughly entertained by PBF's one sided affairs against Baldomir and JMM?

Just out of curiosity, why are most Floyd fans Pac haters and vice versa? These two will both go down in history as two of the greatest fighters ever, albeit in top 10, top 50 or top 100. So why cant people see that both are great fighters and admire what they do in the ring while we still can? I love the sport of boxing, with Manny probably my favourite fighter at the minute as he is 1 of the most explosive fighters around today. But I still respect Mayweather and love watching his fights. I respect the way he goes about his business as a defensive fighter.

So what is it? Is it just a personality thing, or do people actually not like the way the other guy fights? Because I really don’t understand all this bull**** about 1 being great and the other overrated.

As for Pac not fighting opponents...i dont understand that at all. He faught Hatton (previously unbeaten at LWW), a stronger and bigger Cotto who not many thought he could beat, and Clottey (1 of the biggest WW's out there). So who else could he have faced? Mosley (although he was already contracted to fight Berto)?

But I suppose as a Pac fan I no nothing about sport.

 

I was entertained by the JMM fight two technicans at work. The Baldo fight was just a blow out and a one-sided clinic.

Floyd fans need a place to direct hate when we bash on mayweather for coming off like a complete ass.
