Damn, you must like seeing Hatton take punishment. Mayweather or Cotto, he's going to get seriously whooped, especially by the latter. Sure its a huge event, but do you truely think they would be competetive fights? I can't get my enthusiasm up for any fight which isn't competetive in my mind. That goes for those potential fights, and the ridiculous possible matchup of Hatton/Pacquiao.
So you now saying that Witter is a great for taking the fight at short notice ? Man you talk some ****, you not got GCSE coursework to do ?
If this is the case, when do we get to the point that we can no longer consider Hatton the champion because he hasn't fought his number 1 contender? There has to be a point where enough is enough, even in your mind? It devalues the achievement of being champion, and holds the division hostage.
Being able to take fights on short notice isn't a must for great fighters, journeymen do it. Wow, Witter did it too! :rofl
I'd say if you defended against the #1 in your last fight at the weight, that's a pretty tight ship the champions running. If Witter stays at #1, Hatton should fight him at some point if he keeps fighting at 140.
I think a lot of people have Witter at #1 already. If he can beat either Torres or Kotelnik and Hatton is busy fighting little diddy men like Pacman, then I'm sure most independant rankings will have Witter at #1.
But lets look at an extremely plausible and probable hypothetical scenario here Hatton beats Lazcano. Hatton beats Malignaggi. Hatton beats Pacquiao. Hatton has Mayweather II Ignoring the fact Hatton would be somewhere near retirement, he wouldn't have fought his number 1 contender in 3 years. That would mean in 3 years, he has only fought one man that is relevant to the 140lb division in Malignaggi. To me, that is the definition of holding a division hostage, and I would have to think about replacing him in my own rankings. What say you?
It depends on a lot of things, who is Witter fighting in this time frame, is he holding the #1 spot hostage? Is that allowed? I don't know, I don't make the rules of rankings and champions. Does Hatton care if he's 140 champion if he's fighting the p4p #2 and p4p #1 again? It is all hypothetical, if Malignaggi or Hatton f*ck up in Manchester, Hatton-Witter might be 6 months away. I don't really care enough to need to see that fight, that's only my opinion and I accept other people do care, so I hope for you's it happens. Honestly, if Hatton only has one more fight I'd pick Pacquaio, it's like a computer game fight or a dream or something. And Pacquaio would get my respect a lot, he'd be #1 in my list. He is a brave little *******.
I don't know if Hatton cares, probably not, but my point was not just regarding Hatton but any number of fighters that hold divisions hostage. Mayweather is arguably worse, with his 'semi'-retirement', fighting pointless rematches that have **** all to do with welterweight, and his little wrestling appearences. Yet he remains champ, and p4p #1 to boot As for Pacquiao, brave but cannon fodder.
Make your mind up. On the one hand you are saying the above and on the other you say : Hatton has not done either so I guess that means you consider him an average fighter...not great and not a journeyman. :nut Have you got a blowup Hatton doll ?
