Gotta be the worst 2X gold medalist to come in the pro ranks That guy he fought may have been 27-0 but he was awful And still he was landing that right so easily and Shiming couldnt adjust, I mean maybe with the eye closing he couldnt see it I know its like his 5th fight but with the am achievements I figured I'd see more
Part of the reason that right hook was landing was both Shimming's lack of respect or defensive lapse, (IE not keeping his left hand up when he was in the southpaw position), and frankly, Roach's bad advice. I think Roach is a great trainer, but I completely disagreed with what he was telling Shimming to do.
So many guys at flyweight would give that boy a good licking. Roman Gonzalez takes him out in under 7. Francisco Rodriguez in under 10. Moruti Mthalane and Brian Viloria also take him out. Yaegashi and Amnat Ruenroeng box circles around him. Giovani Segura would rough him up so bad, Shiming would walk away from the sport forever. Zou's next step should be one of the Arroyo brothers. Him and McWilliams would be fireworks.
Zou simply can't and will not lose his bad amateur habits. Look at how he fights. He's got fast hands and good footwork, but his style is basically perfect for the amateurs, but AWFUL for the pros. He can potshot really well and score points in the amateur system. He throws a lot of fast arm punches, scores points and get out of danger. The problem with that in the pros, is that the fights go 12 rounds, without headgear and guys just keep coming. His arm punches will have some early effect, but loses steam in the 2nd half of the fight. With all that movement, he tires down the stretch and is wide open to be knocked out by an elite fighter.
Agree. He was awful in the corner. No real advice whatsoever... I was criticizing Roach as all he seems to ever say nowadays late in a fight is "go knock this guy out!"
I don't think Freddie gives two sh*ts about Zou I think he's doing it as a favor for Arum to open up the market in China, he's knows he has a short shelf life because of starting at an advanced age, particularly bad for guys in the lower weight divisions, so he's telling him to go all out, not caring how damage he incurs while doing it. Freddie also seems to be losing it a little.
But do you really blame Roach? Pac was waiting in the dressing room and wasn't warmed up. Shimming should have KO'ed his guy early in the fight if he just sat down on his shots a bit. He threw nothing but arm punches through most of the fight. Roach was getting impatient with all the running around. I'm sure they trained in the gym to throw some meaningful punches and Shimming was still doing his own thing, falling back on amateur habits.
ur kidding!? this guy is wild as ****.. ill ban bet he gets viciously knocked out when he steps up and i have a sneaking suspicion it will be a mexican fighter that does it
Zou Shimming has power!!! legit power! he knocked down manny pacquiao & almost had him out!! ....i saw with my own eyes last weekend! ...il post video up soon!
