I'm actually pretty surprised Joyce got the stoppage...

Yeah he definitely is no banger. It was a combination of his excellent body work and Tiffney having maybe below-average stamina (but perfectly respectable chin and heart to spare)

Blandón comes out aggressive, like a bat from hell, lumping jabs into the guard and then hurling big haymaker looping rights full-power, no finesse. Lasisi manages to calm things down, circling out from the corner and scoring counter jabs and then sneaking both fists under Blandón's elbows, forearms bent upward like fork tines. Super close. 10-9 Lasisi

Round 2 ultra close as well, two very different styles. Lasisi cleaner with his counters, while the Nicaraguan is relentless with his mauling, fighting like more of a heavyweight than a super fly, alternating big filling-a-gourd-in-the-river left hooks on the hip with massive fastball rights up top. 10-9 Blandón, 19-19

Huge swing at the very end of round 3! Lasisi had been winning the round but got overconfident and was hurtling forward throwing a 1-2 into Blandón's guard, when Blandón timed a counter right perfectly, clipping Lasisi on the chin and making him face plant. It was so fast and fluid that in real time it looked (to both the commentators, and to me, I'll admit) as if Lasisi had gone down simply from the force of his own blows as he bounced off Blandón. The punch landing was only made clear upon slow motion replay.

    10-8 Blandón

    29-27 Blandón

Lasisi wins the fourth moving and countering with his jab, carefully remaining on his bike and lurching in to clinch when Blandón marches him down. Lasisi sort of stretches his neck out during a clinch, however, and the ref calls it a flagrant headbutt. Another costly point deduction.

    9-9 (10-9 Lasisi minus a point)

    38-36 Blandón

Fifth was close, Blandón just repeatedly whipping brutal underhands into Lasisi's midsection while getting countered in the face with short pokes.

    10-9 Blandón

    48-45 Blandón

Loads of clinching in the sixth. Lasisi scoring backfoot counter jabs and uppercuts. 10-9 Lasisi

    57-55 Blandón

Not in a position to watch; but I understand Tapia got the stoppage, but was hurt to the body at one point.

Lasisi opening up in the seventh, roaming around pumping 1-2s. Blandón plodding after him.

    10-9 Lasisi

    66-65 Blandón

Lasisi hurt Blandón in the eighth but could not capitalize, or didn't have enough in his tank. Regardless, nothing effective from the Nicaraguan to balance it out.

    10-9 Lasisi
