I heard it was Ben Shalom but not confirmed. Hes never given an interview to IFL so not sure if he doesnt trust them maybe.
I always skip IFL interviews when the jock and this lad are doing them. They're gash interviewers, Cassius should consider binning them.
Umar is a massive suck up to Frank Warren. "Yes Frank. No Frank. You deserve the best Frank". Having said that they way Eddie goes on you'd think IFL sent Jeremy Paxman to interview him instead of just having a chat with his mate Kugan. They dont exactly lay into him do they.
Umar ifl Umar has gone up in my estimations. He had Hearn’s arse flapping for majority of the interview
I think they were both tredding water a bit. The bit Umar did well on was making the point thar by Eddie Eluding to certain things it can make it sounds like a fact
Eddie wanted to lay into Umar but he was thinking about the bigger picture. That if he rants and raves, he looks like an idiot and he'd be doing what Frank Warren does but he definitely was simmering underneath the surface. All the way throughout the interview. His ego/confidence has definitely taken a hit. You can just see it. He seems meek at the moment. Umar's problem is, he's not there for the pure boxing talk. He's there for the "he says, she says" type of gossipy bitchy talk. I wouldnt blame him for that though. Kugan is responsible for him and Kugan himself is that type of interviewer so he is responsible for the way Umar has turned out.
Whatever you think of Eddie Umar was totally unprofessional. You don’t start an interview with a list of scores you want to settle. It won’t happen but I’d be quite happy for Eddie to make the relationship with IFL more of a professional one and give them the same time he gives to the other channels.
Let's face it, all promoters use the YouTube channels because they're able to practically design the interview. Hearn can moan all he wants, he gets regularly asked about pickled onion Monster Munch by Kugan. Frank knows channels like IFL need access to him for their numbers and subscribers, hence he has the power to dictate the interview. Not one of them would sit down for a long interview with a credible, sports journalist who would call them on their bluster and posturing.
That was an absolute car crash from Umar - Interviewing skills of a btec media student and rightly put in his place by Hearn. Cringe
The "buddy" thing with Eddie and Kugan was a bit cringe at times, but we occasionally got some good insight. Umar has a more serious approach, Im not a fan if I'm honest.
Agree totally, he made Hearn go into his full on David Brent persona, well done Umar, keep it up please. stay safe guys.
