I have a bet with a buddy of mine. He believes that Ibragimov is going to stop Holyfield inside of 4 rounds. I think he is crazy. I'm not saying Holy is going to win (though I think he's got a shot), but he has never been stopped so early, and regardless of his age, I just don't think Ibragimov is going to be the first guy that scores such a KO/TKO on the warrior. So I told my buddy to put his money where his mouth is, and we now have a bet. What do you guys think? Have I made a good wager?

i see holyfield hitting iggy with that signature left hook and knocking him out cold around the 10th or 11th round.

I think you've made a good choice. I'm not saying Holyfield is going to win but there's no way Sultan stops him in 4 rounds. Holyfield has lost a lot of stuff but not his chin or heart and even a 44 year old Holyfield has more than enough chin and heart to carry him past 4 rounds with Sultan. :good

I actually think this is likely the general way it will go myself - Holyfield by late stoppage. However, regardless of whether you or I have over-estimated what Holyfield has left, or underrated Ibragimov - NO WAY he knocks Holyfield out in 4 or less, no way.:yep

If anyone is getting stopped inside 4 its going to be Sultan. Evander is taking the belt in this one.

You can't even call that a bet. Call it a donation from him to you.

How closely does your friend follow boxing? Even if he lucks up and wins, he made a stupid bet.

    No.

If he wins, the bet starts to look smart.

It will look better, but the logic behind the bet is poor, no matter the outcome. Unless this person can detect otherwise undetectable cues outside the grasp of everyone else. Which I doubt.

A bet may look foolish before the event has happened.

If you bet on me against Mike Tyson, most would agree that was a foolish bet.

But after the event, if you have won, the bet can no longer be considered foolish.

If I pull it off against Mike somehow, then you made a smart bet.
