A poor bet can result in a positive outcome. Like trying to chase down an inside straight in Texas Hold'em.

Unless the person in question here has access to information we don't, it's a **** poor bet, irrespective of result. Yeah, we won't be able to talk **** if if happens -- just like you can't really rag the guy who hits the bullshitty straight -- but it will do nothing but prove that low-percentage bets do at times pay off.

I think we're both saying the same thing for the most part. The difference is recognizing how the situatuion changes when you go from pre-event to post- event.

While an event may be low probability before the event, after the event it becomes a certainty, and thus was a good bet.

Not a good bet necessarily in the time leading up to the event, but a good bet the moment the event happens. You can't argue with reality and if the event has happened, then it is a certainty and thus a good bet.

Re: the bet in question: Holy gets stopped inside of four. There is AMLOST CERTAINLY the potential for this to happen.

After Tarver-Jones 1, few would have bet on Roy being KO' in four rounds (much less two) in the rematch.

I wouldn't bet on Holy being KO'd in four, but if someone did, and he was, then it WAS a good bet.

Unbelievable how many people think an old shot Holyfield can beat Ibragimov. I am gonna LMAO on the day of that fight when he gets completely and utterly dominated.

For the record; I've never said he will win. So, do you think it will be over in under 4?

Between 7 and 9 makes more sense. I could see Holyfield ground down and stopped by a barrage in this one.

Ibragimov is underrated and Holy is shot.

So did Lou Savarese in Holy's last fight. I wouldn't be surprised if Sultan did stop Evander. That early though? Maybe not.
