Ignoring the low blow controversy… Dubois failed miserably.

Err did you miss the part when zhang hit Hrgovic and Hrgovic just pauses for seconds with hands down staring into nothing, the floor and going for a walk?

Usyk and Dubois looked fine after the fight, no real damage in their appearance, slight swelling on Dubois' eye but nothing to write home about. Both fighters were tentative to let loose, both fighters struggled to land a meaningful shot other than the controversial body blow.

Usyk definitely respected Dubois power. I found it interesting how Usyk rushed over to Dubois' corner after the fight was over and spat some illogical diatribe with the hope that it would distort the situation. 'This is boxing, this is boxing, this is boxing'. What does that even mean?

His diatribe worked and distorted the situation, so it seems.

I suggest you watch the fight again because I can timestamp dozens of meaningful shots from Usyk where dubois head snaps back
Viciously. And looking at the punch stats Usyk landed more power punches.

Usyk did not respect Dubois power because he was in his face, head hunting, going toe to toe all night. He literally went purposefully to end the fight early by stoppage after the controversial blow. And he got it.

AJ marked up Usyks face badly in both fight's

Chisora marked up Usyks face badly and his body.

Dubois didnt, obviously because he didnt land meaningful shots, its that simple.

Impresive, but I would say that making your opponent run from you is more impresive.

Lol that little cheeky run from Zhang? Come on…

Zhang was smashing Hrgovic all night with oower punches, man handling him. Anyways, I saw that fight as a draw or close win for zhang who landed significantly more meaningful shots. Credit to Hrgovic for not getting KOd but clearly he was hurt and he did not want to be there anymore with that body language.

    • Zhang turned his back to Hrgovic and ran, that is very different and say "fear", this was a tactic that Usyk does 15 times in a round.
    • Smashing? Man halding him (like a woman?) are you a chinese bot?
    • Seems like you didnt actually looked at the statistic, you watched DAZN highlights, didnt you? Look at the stats, Hrgovic landed 2x more of everything
    • Zhang wasnt Hurt for the entire fight, then why did he run for his life?

AJ and Dubois were approaching their matches with Usyk a little differently in my opinion. AJ wanted to outbox a master boxer who was a naturally lighter, quicker fighter. Dubois on the other hand was looking for the one shot kill with defense in mind.

Usyk came out victorious with both opponents and credit to him.

Where is this run you speak off? Is it this:

No one takes that seriously except you. Had that been the first round of the fight, you would have a point. But it was the last 3 seconds of a 12 round fight….

    Try again

Ok, but Dubois said his game plan isn’t to look for a one punch:

His actions in the match spoke a bit differently in my opinion, Dubois that is.

Dubois won 2-3 rounds?!?!?!?!? WTF were you watching??? Most couldn't give him a single round, and being generous you might say 1 round (I don't). Try to have some honesty on these forums.

    I thought rounds 3,4,5, and 7 we're debatable. I had Dubois winning rounds 4 and 5.

I blame Dubois for not sticking to what he said, which is that he was going to destroy Usyk, but he didn't manage the whole situation, Usyk was hitting him with clean punches...

Honestly, I can't really blame him at all - it doesn't matter what he said he was going to try to do, he simply isn't capable of it.

Usyk has elite skills and a deep resume - Dubois has neither.

Usyk has a solid defence and excellent ring IQ - Dubois walks into jabs.

This was always going to be a mismatch, it needed controversy to even be worth talking about the next morning... Somehow it got it.

Chisora managed to hurt Usyk a lot more.
