**** knows what they feed these pesky russians on, but it's apparent he shared the same diet growing up as Fedor

whereas a lot of fighters, especially nowadays, give the impression they're in it for the sport - Igor always gave the impression he was there for the fight, and he'd kill you given half the chance

Igor was an animal in PRIDE. He was without a doubt one of the most feared and potent strikers in MMA. This man fought because he had a vicious streak in him. His record on Sherdog doesnt include the myriad of fights this man had that went under the radar. Watch his fight with Enson Inoue. Inoue finally made it out of hospital around 4 months after that fight.

Need to allow headbutts, knees to the head of a stuffed takedown to shake up some of these boring ass wrestlers and bjj practitioners who more try to control and run the clock out.

One of my all time favourite fighters. Someone posted an interview he did on here not too long ago. I'll have a look and see if I can find it.

More often than not it would be to the wrestlers and BJJ guys advantage, just gives the more dominant guy on the ground another weapon.

The most brutal instances I can think of off the top of my head were Coleman vs Goes and Arona vs Sak.

Yup, Igor got injured and lost.

Igor is probably one of everybody's favorite fighters, he was just so fun to watch. Towards the end the effects of all those punches, some of which landed badly for his hands were just to much.

He has serious damage to his right hand and arm, I think he has some metal pins in it now.

In a lot of ways he was a prototype for Fedor to follow, he had simple effective striking and nasty ground and pound.

His fight against Enson Inoue was ****ing brutal, non stop GnP from within the guard, he had Enson seriously damaged, to the point of him not being able to stand. His GnP from the guard, along with Coleman's, was a major influence on Fedor.

He opened a restaurant after retiring, I belive he still runs it.

A fight with a prime Igor vs Anderson Silva or Wanderlei..would have been great

Wanderlei vs Igor would have been great; a prime Igor vs a prime Anderson would be a pretty secure win for Anderson, I think; just a bad style matchup.
