:lol:That was brutal. I've never seen that fight before. That was back from when Igor was fighting as lightheavy before he decided to pack on the pounds a bit to help his punch in my opinion.

I never really understood Pauls m.o. He seemed to be one of those knuckle dragging types that loved ECW but never made it to their roster. He was simply big with a ton of heart and that was it. He took an absolutely frightening beating from a prime Mark Kerr at the WVC in Brazil. Mark completely manhandled him and rearranged his face which was a mass of deep cuts and blood in the short while that it lasted.

When PRIDE first started it only had a heavyweight division. As they added other divisions Igor eventually went back to his normal weight. He more than held his own at the higher weight and had canned hams for fists.

NHB had no weightclasses, gloves, or rules. He fought at 205 for most of his NHB days. He weighed the same in that fight as he did vs 6'8 300 lb Varlens.

Royce Gracie is a legend for winning 2 eight-man tounrey's. Igor won at least 6 eight-man tourney's, i know of 1 that isn't listed on his fight finder.

He went on a 33 or 34 fight win streak in his NHB days as a 205 lb guy in an era which was dominated by Wrestlers like 260lb Kerr or 240lb Nick Nutter.

1:09 - Brutal combo and Kd

2:51 - Igor was great with headbutts

4:32 - 4:50 - Igor drops the guy 3 times in a row and keeps telling him to get up.

Edson Carvahalo is an *******. That was a great retribution beating by Igor. They should have let Igor beat on him while he was unconscious. The same way scumbag Carvahalo beat on Wallid Ismail in that Rio judo club/street fight.

Watching Igor savage that ***** always makes me smile.

Wallid Ismail and Ebson were both competitors/fighters based in Rio during the early 90's. They both trained at a popular Judo club, sorry the name(s)/affiliations escape me.

An issue came up that turned physical. Edson wound up getting the better of Wallid, to the point where Wallid was unable to defend himself. But that was not enough for Edson. He takes it upon himself to drag Wallid out onto the sidewalk and continue beating on him to the point were Wallid winds up in intensive care for some time.

Others no doubt have their own spin on what actually occurred. Lord knows I was not there. However the most consistant synapsis of the event is what I posted.
