What if Igor Vysotsky could have turned pro? with two wins over Teofilo Stevenson [one by knockout] and beating many greats of the past like
Tony Tubbs [ko2], Mitch Green [w3] and a controversial spilt decision loss to Greg Page. i see Vysotsky as ripping a hole in the mid 70s,
he was maybe the greatest counterpuncher in all of boxing history.
also he was a good size fighter for the time, 6'2" 212lb,

was he 6.2" ? he looked much smaller than Stevenson
dont forget how he got slaughtered by Milian(stevenson's cuban rival)
he was like a Rusian version of Joe Frazier.

I saw the fight, many yrs ago, dont remember when..late70's,early 80"s? but there was a big expectation because Visotsky was very well known in Cuba.I rememeber Milian connecting with everything and Igor was the whole fight surviving but didnt go down.He had a hell of a chin.

he was 6'0 tall. Where did you get the 212 stat from? He looked a hell of a lot thicker than that. His upperbody shoulders, arms etc were very big. I would guess he was at least 220.

then came a championship where Visotsky and Stevenson were suppose to collide in the finals but Visotsky was eliminated...he just got Teofilo's number, beat him twice.

Just think, what if fighters like Vysotsky, Stevenson, Miliam, and many more could have turned pro back then. i believe fighters like Ali, Foreman, Frazier, and Norton would have been no more than a side note in boxing history,
    just as it is today.....
