IIf Frank Warren a great Promoter or a great CONMAN?

    In the aftermath of DAVID Hayes comments about Skelton/Sports Network gives me time to mull over Frank Warrens career as a promoter...

    I think he has been the saviour of British Boxing!

    I think he moulded Hattons Career.......
    Benn had a great last horro vs the Gman
    Calzaghe managed 20+ defences
    Hamed was moved along perfectly under Warren
    etc......
    He also had the WBO PRESIDENT Frasico Varcacel around his thumb.

    But then as a purist and an analyst of boxing there is a downside.....

    One has to Question....has any of Warrens fighters faced a TOP fighter @ their Peak. Forget GMan vs Benn....Benn was on his last legs and no one expected that.

    Hatton would have never been allowed to fight Mayweather under Warren.

    I mean Calzaghe managed to win his title vs a Eubank( a Eubank who was due to fight at Cruiserweight, who also took the fight @ 2 weeks notice).
    Calzaghe also never faced a P4P fighter @ his peak in 20 defences...amazing what you can get away with in Uk.

    Hamed faced many Top fighters but again no P4P on his resume (maybe Jhnson/Kelly).

    Hatton was held back till Tszyu got nice and old, ......

    oh what about the dodgy REFEREES @ Hattons fights Micky Van, D Parris??????


    But Frank Warren perfected his promotional skills with one fighter...the END PRODUCT was

    JOE CALZAGHE...

    If there ever was a ROLE model fighter for Sports network it was JOEY C.

    A fighter who was in a very weak division, handsome, white with good skills,power, chin. With the WBO belt around his waist and not ONE P4P fighter apearing in his 10 years at Supermiddleweight reign....it was a perfect recipe to create an illusion of a Legend.

    Amazing how many people have bought the gimmick.....

    David Haye knows alot of fans are critical of Frank thus he can build his hype of that, but Frank Is the UK's best promoter and pays his fighters well.

    Joe was one of the few who stayed loyal, the rest who left him got too big for their boots and were molded Into world level with his matchmaking.

    Yes, Calzaghe fought a peak Kessler, he will match his fighters with peak guys If there good enough. He's not stupid to throw them In the lions den too early when there not ready, alot of talents get wasted because of that.

    Eubank after Calzaghe got a contriversial loss to a more prime Carl Thompson too.

    The one who makes the huge fights happen In the UK Is him, the rest are too small time and lack the money and business experiance.
